They are both gorgeous! I have been battling the temptation to order the dark brahma chicks that are finally on the website for sale from my breeder of choice. They do not sell eggs for this breed/color so chicks is the only way I could get them from this particular breeder. Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it, wait till next year is my mantra but I can’t say I’ll listen to the mantra with 100% certainty

If it wasn’t for Sophia I would definitely NOT be even thinking not getting more chicks

But Sophia is getting older, maybe she might make an awesome mama, heaven knows those silkies have been a terror! Picking fights with those that are always beating the crap out of them. At least Sophia is a lead hen and Dorothy and Rose likely won’t cross her.

Of course now I have Fluffy going into her nest box and beating the crap out of her! Sheesh!!!

Raven update.
She has 4 chicks, I will remove the 6 unhatched eggs tonight. I went to both tractor supply and rural king today. Tractor Supply was sold out until Thursday. Rural King only had cornish cross available. For many reasons I will not raise cornish cross so 4 will be her total number.

I HAD NekBother and Sam, but I have to many boys so off they went packing to freezer camp. But that happened recently and one of the boys got active so they are fertilized now. I am getting Colombian Rock hatching eggs this evening, so they might be eligible to pop?
I want her to hatch chicks for me! No way I am breaking her.
