I admire your being blunt. Sometimes I wish I could just tell people no and they'd back off.
I have had people tell me "My chickens don't have personality, but my ducks do". I just go on and on about how friendly my chickens are and how they have their own personalities and the such. Sometimes I change a mind, other times people still think they are just eggs and food.
I have gotten one family close to getting some chickens. I'm sure they'll love them when they get them.

Yeah, chickens have personality. If you own and love them long enough, they will get to know you and you will get to know them. One of the treats of having chickens.

The smoke is nonexistent. I heard of all the fires in Quebec, as well. No smoke, but one morning I woke up to ash on the car.

So have I before. Not from your fires though.

I'm playing devils advocate here for @Ponypoor . Everyone on here knows my luck with hatching boys. I cannot tell you how hard it is to find homes for extra roosters, at times it is near impossible. I still have madea, at this point I will give him away. I do not eat my roosters, actually I do not eat any of my chickens. That being said some of the boys have been sold and were processed. I am sad about it, but until that time they lived a good life. A much better one than those poor chickens raised in the commercial poultry industry. I have to make peace with the fact that many boys I have been able to place in homes and are still alive today while knowing that some ended up feeding a family. It also all depends on your area if placing roosters is easy. In my area, everyone wants hens, very few want roosters. And we are rural for the most part and any and everyone can have roosters. Not everyone wants a rooster with their flock even if they can. You all know me, I love my boys, I would keep them all if I could. The simple fact is I cannot, so I do my best and have to live with knowing I tried my best for every single male chick I have hatched.

True! All my extra boys are free ranging and eating the grasshoppers that will in turn eat my garden. They will go packing off to freezer camp some time, but at least they had a good life with me.

Go outside - being inside is boring! I am sure she would rather be outside with her 2 favourite boys.

I had a really long scathing reply to your comments and then I thought - why bother - you obviously are way too good to be told, and know everything. I know of a 100 horse people like you.

Every time someone here makes a suggestion to you, there is always a snippy ready reply that you know what you are doing - no you don't I think.

I would never give any of my Roos to you, your standards of care are substandard to mine.

While my barbarically treated Roos are living with me they will live a carefree life eating bugs, roaming at large and getting all the attention that I can throw upon them.

Your way of animal husbandry, I actually find barbaric

I dont claim to know everything geezus..... But if I do know it I will state so been doing this since I was a kid. Im not the only one on here that thinks and acts like Im too good or a know it all. Anyways my chooks are happy and welled cared for. SO whatevah

It turned out all the fires were faaar away from here but still in Alberta.
