The chickens say thank you :).
Notice the distracted Leghorn.
Oh, and if anyone here needs tech help, just PM me. I can try to help you out :).

Well, Raven has had roughly 10 hours free ranging with the chicks. I need to get them and put them up for the night. I have a feeling I will be herding cats now that they are not confided to the coop. If I am lucky she will be resting with them inside the open coop so I can just shut the door and catch them. If not, I will talk to you all in a hour.

Our other two residents came to us in April as chicks. My wife raised them until they moved outside and then they became my responsibility.

Hattie is our lavender orpington hen. She has not starting laying yet but i expect she will once the days turn longer.

Jabberwockie, Jabber for short, was supposed to be an Easter Egger hen, however, he is clearly not a hen.

He and Hattie are inseperable.
Beautiful birds! Where did you acquire such a variety? I have 7 Barred Rocks about 5 weeks old now - I ordered them from the local feed store. Previous pullets I got at tractor Supply- this is my 3 batch of pullets raising from a few days old. I acquired a used coop and it served us well- after viewing all the coop designs we began a new journey in building the ultimate chicken coop. We shall see how it goes!

So wonderful that they are out and about ❤️

I love the barred pattern on the wings of Tuff and Chia, will they be barred?
I think they're going to be partridge like Pear, Belladonna, and Primula. Gold toned but lighter than Pear.

edit: Granted Belladonna and Primula are silver based so it's called silver penciled instead of partridge which is gold based (regardless of how dark a brown is, it's still gold).

Round them up? Oh dear! Ours usually go into the coop by dusk…. Maybe yours will too.

Hmmm only an hour? 😁 that’s pretty fast!

I had to give up earlier trying to get them inside. Sat for a bit - and they all came to see what I was doing just sitting there! Hahahaha - quick shut the door. Who knew all I had to do was sit down - so nosey these chooks!

A TV is like a huge desktop monitor. So pretty much anything that has the right port and can support the resolution of the TV can plug into it and use it as a monitor (display).
I am going to owe so much tax for helping other people.
Don’t you know, (my young friend) That no good deed ever goes unpunished! :old

Raven made it semi-easy to gather up the chicks. Instead of being in the coop they were all bunked down in Louis's stall. What is it with these crazy momma's sleeping in the corner of that stall. I think in another day or so instead of letting them sleep in the tote on the porch I will fix them up a spot in the coop. I might do that, grandma does enjoy spending time with Raven and the chicks first thing in the morning and in the evening.
