If you have a cardboard box, open it up and lay it on top of the ground/bedding/chicken poop and crawl over to the eggs. I always have a few spare boxes just for that or for extra 'nest boxes' just in case!I don't know how many of the eggs are alive, and to give them back to her, I needed to roll them about a foot. I put them as close to her as possible, but it's hard to be on your hands and knees on bird crap.. plus three other bothersome brats who are wondering "what in the heckin' chickens is going on?"
Afterwards, it can go in the compost or recycling ( but scrape off the worst of the chicken poop first, before putting in the recycling bin!)
