Have I ever said how much I appreciate having you genetic expertise on the thread. Thank you for teaching us all.
Yes very much appreciated! And of course the fun doing the ‘what on earth happened there’ with the unusual colours 😊

I can’t wait to see what colour eggs the school chicks lay, I am betting Martina lays cream or light peach coloured but who knows with the rest!! Then we will have more ‘where did that colour come from’ discussions 😊 like Tippy - her mum Sophia lays those dark khaki/brown with speckles - but what will Tippy lay ??

The anticipation is as fun as the results.

❤❤❤
I'm just annoyed, because he always makes a big deal out of everything.
Plus he and my mother have been talking about splitting up and all of that....
But on the other hand, I am grateful, and I showed him that by talking everyone's head off about Willow, her (soon to be) chicks, and the other birds.
Being an adult is tough, maybe you should approach him and explain you worry about him, and make sure to tell him you appreciate his help. Also, a spontaneous hug is worth it’s weight in gold ❤️

Thank you @Ponypoor for reminding everyone.
I will add that the reason there is a tax system is to try to keep this thread mainly focused on chickens, and stories about chickens, and not have it become a random chat thread.
There are many random chat threads that can be used for random chat.
Of course we are a community, and it is nice to hear about each other’s lives and be able to support each other in many ways, so it isn’t like we want an absolute rule to enforce only chicken talk.
But, we have already lost people who brought a lot of value to this community because they do not have the time to keep up with idle chatter.
All that just to say, keep a high bar for why something is worth sharing here, and if it isn’t chicken related include tax in the same post.

And here is my posting etiquette tax: Sylvie looking grown-up.

Those chicks are brats! I piled the crates in the hopes they would choose to roost on their shelf in the Hen House, but nope there they are piled up precariously upon that top crate!

Guess I better go make sure they were ok.

Ya you look down! I see you up there!
Unless you can pile them up way into the ceiling rafters snug against the ceiling….
You realize this echoes the fan?
I’m doing this for you 🤦‍♀️

I will say these are terrible pictures. With Bubba, Butter and Lilly making me look like I know what I am doing taking pictures, the chicks were determined to make me look bad. They were successful at that by the way. What I was trying to do yesterday was show you all that the 2 jail birds are getting their prison jumpsuit colors.

It's still lovely to see them. 🥰

Good pictures. Yes, that is the silver version of Bernadette.
What puzzles me is that she currently has so much white on her. The picture on the bottom left looks like a younger version with more white - so maybe she is heading to look like that.

Here is Bernie who is a Gold Welbar.

And while on the subject of Sylvie, she has noticed the rafters. I may be in trouble.

Fly Sylvie fly!

Got out today and sat with the chickens for a bit. My cats were out hunting so I didn’t manage to get any photos of them today :(

The newbies are getting more curious about me. I noticed something today they all have olive green eyes. Myth, somewhat unwillingly, modeled them for a picture.
