That is pretty comprehensive!
I have Citrical minis rather than antacids just because calcium citrate is supposedly absorbed faster than calcium carbonate.
The only things I can think of that are not in yours are:
- Corid
- Fenbendazole (but I know you don't use chemical dewormers)
- A set of measuring spoons
- A digital scale for small amounts (actually that lives in the kitchen drawer)
- A packet of empty gel capsules that can be filled with other medicines and popped down their throat which is sometimes easier than other ways of dosing.
- Catheters and syringes for direct dosing and crop feeding
- Baby bird feeding formula
And now I have 1,000 more things that I need!

I have a really great branch. It has a nice gentle curve and some smaller branches off it and is long and light enough for me to use.
It works with some.
Some simply jump on it. And that is fine because then I can move the branch to where I need them.
Others however - naming no names Sylvie and Piglet - simply jump over it like they are skipping rope.

Here is a sweet well behaved little Princess who would never ever run back outside once I got all her sisters rounded up! Am I right Pooh? :gig

I love that nice topknot :) I was trying for that look with Martina...

A teeny tiny contribution to pony Sunday. A bunny-pony.

The 'grup' hens were out in the back paddock the other day, and Bunny was minding its own business when the mob decided the bunny most go... they all ran after this poor helpless bunny! hahaha - what is with these hens?

:eek:Beautiful!

What lovely ponies! Truly is a nice name. Is that a Barn Swallow in the first picture?
Yes I have had Barn Swallows in the barn here 'forever', but this year only 4 have returned, but only one nest on the go. Usually I have at least 3 nests. One year 5 nests! I don't know if the chickens are causing them to not return, or what. I am assuming something more sinister like Avian Influenza, or weather/climate changes.

Whatever it is, I make these kiddos as comfy as I can. The barn is cool on hot days, and there is a nice breeze down the alleyway. It's snug on stormy days.

Thanks to Lety helping me it only took 45 minutes to remove and clean the dog's ac unit this morning. Needed to do it early because the heat index is 95 already. Tax pic, me and Estrella. We have a prospective new home for her. View attachment 3546746View attachment 3546747
Oh she is a darling - I am going to keep that name for the next Pullet I get, its a lovely name. Sure hope that the new home works out - I bet she would be a lovely addition to any home. I miss having a dog but with my schedule it's just not feasible.

Martina has eyes!

I love the full headdress look on her but this look is for her own good. I guess she is a punk rocker now, time to change up what music you play for her. She needs to be initiated to the 80s rock. Blast some Def Leppard, Guns n Roses and ACDC in the barn now while you do chores. I still think pullet, wattle starting on chick that is around 8 weeks no longer bother me. With breeds that are supposed to have them, hens included.

Breakfast in the drizzle.View attachment 3546752They're very much included in the tribe. Cheetah headed up by the garage for breakfast. Started a warning call, and Whiskey picked it up under the tree by my brick seat. ALL the babies hot footed it under the bush behind the big door.

View attachment 3546751All clear and they were right back out....under Hector's feet. (Yes I was out in my bathrobe). The drizzle turned into a steady soaking within the hour.
Don't you just love when everyone is out together? They are looking less like babies and more like miniature chickens :)

I have some low dose aspirin for them, and any other meds I have for myself.
And whatever I have on hand here for the horses, Aluspray, Poly-Vi-Sol, eye ointment (steroid, and one with antibiotic), mineral oil, telephone to call Vet....

I have a scale to weigh birds, and 3 crates of various sizes. Magnifying glass, safety goggles, scissors, etc.

I worm with ivermectin once a yr.

Other than that I don't keep too much stuff around. I am close enough to the feed store and my Vet is just up the road.

My only fear is that something catastrophic were to happen on a weekend and I had to euthanize a bird and no Vet was available. I have no idea what to best way would be to deal with a bird in that situation.

Bodies on Chia and Enigma are looking 75% feathered. Shan and Havoc aren't far behind. Zulu and Tuff are taking their time. From the neck up, they're all still nothing but fuzz.

It is when I get eggs like these from Holly that I get the urge to fire up the incubator or find the next broody hen to stuff them under.

It hurts my soul that Holly is a mother of boys. Marans eggs are never as dark as they were when they begin their first season of laying. Towards the end of the laying season they will have lightened up. When they take a winter break or broody break and start back they are dark again, but never as dark as the first few weeks of eggs. Holly has been back in lay for a week now since her chicks were sold. She is also over 3 years old now so I am still very happy with her egg color.
