Is the liquid for oral or topical use ?Dusting powder for your coop and run, no sense treating if they get reinfected.
Ivermectin to treat lice and mites. I bought the liquid stuff I give the horses, I can get it in a syringe for dosing one horse (liquid not paste), and then did the math for how much a chicken gets.
You will need to retreat in 14 days. And re-dust the coop and run.
You can do a search on BYC for dosing of ivermectin. Added benefit is your chooks get wormed.
I was wondering about those of you in texas. My sister has been sending me reports. They hit 111 at their house a couple of days ago. Been pulling up the garden a month early, things died off fast. With the heat index well over 100 on a daily basis, we added more ventilation to Cholo's house.
I don't think that any of my birds are vaccinated....No. If your older birds already have Marek's, or if you bring in a new bird with Marek's, or in other ways expose your chickens to Marek's, then the vaccinated chicks might catch Marek's (even though they are vaccinated), but they shouldn't get severe disease because the vaccination will protect them from more serious disease.
The TSC's around here also have chicks from Hoovers. I've never bought chicks from TSC or from Hoovers. I know people who did and their chicks got sick and died.
I was answering your question about getting vaccinated chicks. If you get vaccinated chicks they are not a danger to your unvaccinated older birds.I don't think that any of my birds are vaccinated....
I am so sorry for you allTina has been in hospice care for the past week. She stays in the house. My husband puts her on his lap or in a tub with bedding that he carries around with him.
I think he is extremely upset.
Today Tina can't move anymore. He is so upset that he barely talked to me.
A screenshot during video chat from 2 days ago. Poor Tina.View attachment 3553937
