Had a lot of crowing this morning; I think I will have to put them in a dark crate overnight so me and the neighbours aren’t wakened at 04:30am.

I do the same when doing a headcount
2 white
2 brown
2 grey with hairdos
1 grey
1 black
1 splash
4 speckled littles

I don’t know how you and @Ponypoor do it. I only have 5 littles, and I am competent at arithmetic, but I still can’t count them.
I can only ever get to four. Always one missing.
So I keep counting until it is a different one missing, so they must all be there!

This morning I was sitting on a stool, half a sleep, when she hopped up on my lap, wiped her beak on my slacks, and tried to peck a button off my flannel shirt! She has high hopes hahahahahah
(May have to keep her also…. Damn chicken math hahaha)

Yep then I have to figure out who’s missing! Right?!

It takes me about 10 min to get them all in.

What’s up with the feathers are they dirty or what?

In the past, I count littles separately from bigs...until I accidentally count the littles mixed in with the bigs. Tells me size wise I'm not noticing much of a difference any more. It's still there, just have to look more closely. At that point, just count all of them....until the count is short, like last night.

Indigo wasn't there. Time to go look for hidden nest she's likely broody on.....(that girl WOULD pull a Ol' Momma Bat)....not a clue where she was, but she's not brooding a hidden nest. She's safely tucked in the coop with the others....after I got thoroughly mosquito chewn looking for the "hidden nest" that doesn't exist....yet...

Oi I bet that was a frantic search! I know what you mean with size difference, my Tweens are not much smaller than the grups.

Tonight I am going to put the tweens and other chicks in the summer coop, they are too big now to be all stuffed into the Hen House. Oh and I will move Sophia in there is the crate and see if she will stick there. She is hogging a nest box that other’s can use.

Do you block your broodies? I did with the silkies as the bossy ladies kept harassing them.

I haven't block my broodies. I have marked eggs so I can steal the extra deposited ones. I've also "pecked" ladies actively trying to throw broodies off nests. Indigo is the primary lady I expect to go broody somewhere besides in the coop. Hasn't happened yet, but when I couldn't find her last night, I went looking for a hen on a hidden nest. She was somewhere. Never found a nest, and she isn't broody at the moment so

How is everything going. Have you managed to protect yourself from the th dirtbags that hacked you?

I believe I'm okay - I am just waiting on some replacement cc - I canceled mine as soon as I found out so they couldn't use them - and I changed my passwords on everything - and IT 'disinfected' my computer.
