Ouch!:rant:barnie I had my breakfast on a plate and I was hoping to sit in the living room and eat, but NO NOT THIS TIME. I tripped over the carpet boarder and the plate ( with eggs, hash browns, steak and muffin) went flying out of my hands. I fell to the floor, but saved the drink I was holding. I can’t eat it now because the gritty stuff in the carpet is not very clean. Bummer that I’m still hungry!
Oh drats! Tell me did this happen around 11:45 eastern time? That’s when I went crashing down trying to remove huge staples from 2x4s

Don’t worry the plywood I was cutting broke my fall……

I sure hope you’re feeling k - did you have to redo your breakfast?

I'm sorry and hope you did not hurt yourself falling. Well, there is only 1 thing to do now. Throw open your door and holler "hear chick chick chick". Let the rocks clean it up.
Hahaha 😝 cam just see him actually doing that - it would be the logical thing to do!

I was glad when I went down I didn’t land on any of the chicks! But they sure bolted away fast when I went crashing down - except for the two up on the plywood I was cutting - they just peered over the edge at me - laughing I imagine.

I did something different that may work especially in California.

Yes, I know the baseboard is scuffed 😂 but that appears to be hardwood, yes?

It isn’t it’s porcelain tile planks. Nearly indestructible, doesn’t scuff or scratch, and cleaning is a breeze! Just an unusual idea that has worked for me.
That is very popular here in homes, I was going to put it in the office / feed room here but it was rather expensive! Would have made cleaning chicken poop a breeze 😁

Behold the flop on Peep. They all have varying degree's of floppiness to their combs but Peeps is the best. View attachment 3556379
Mom decided she is changing all of their names to Dumpling. For the first time in 5 years she is trying to grow tomatoes and peppers to make grandma happy. She has resorted to this.

Peep and her grew of Marshmallows or cough "Dumplings" are defying all attempts to keep chickens out of them.

Grandma who you would think be upset as she wanted us to tear up half the yard for a garden, is actually enjoying watching mom loose the battle to the chickens. She also gets a kick out of the arguments me and mom have had over them.
That’s great I think 😊 and trying to keep the chickens out of the plants I found to be a losing battle. But I love how your mom is wanting to make her happy 💕 and the chickens also 😊

Hey all. I have good news and bad news...

Bad news first: Sheba is standing and walking like a penguin. I noticed it yesterday...today it's even more pronounced. I've googled it and as best I can tell, there's nothing not bad it can be. She's not egg bound. She is out most reliable layer...every day I have an egg from her. Shes eating and drinking. She's running around with the Meanie and Manny. I'm not sure what to do. It's not a good pic, but best I could do today.

Please 🙏 anyone, advice???

The good news is Eenie is actually acting like a proper broody hen, pancake and all. She doesn't really want off the nest. I put water by her so she can drink without getting up, as it's pretty hot in the coop.

I'm still thinking of a way to get the others to move, or to move her. I'm not wild about trying to get Sheba to move since she's not well. 😞

I know it's pony Sunday, but I don't have a pony. Here's my dog.

I'm sorry to hear about Sheba. No, it doesn't sound good. I will let the more experienced on here answer, since egg bound would have been my first guess. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Good for Eenie! :wee Eenie really does want to be a momma :)

And your puppy looks like s/he is having a great time! I'm also glad to see s/he is a responsible boater and wears his/her life vest like a good citizen should.:love

Wow they are so grown up 💕

They grow up so fast soon they will be laying eggs 😊
I think we need to work on going to roost inside the coop first! I am hopeful that once we start getting dark again that they will clue in and just go into the coop to roost without my encouragement.

Last night I got home around 10:30 pm and they were all hunkered down under their coop. When they saw me, tra la la they zoomed around, skipping and jumping! They really are adorable!

Raven and the chicklets. The Jailbirds are really starting to show their stripes. The 2 sussex, still look like chipmunks.

These 2 are from my own eggs.

My white one is not white anymore. In the past, if my yellow chicks change color it has not been a good sign. All have ended up to be boys.

Owly with a jailbird butt.

Lilly is not the only hen hiding eggs in the food bin. The speckled egg is Lilly's. I suspect the solid one is Ducky's.
