That is very popular here in homes, I was going to put it in the office / feed room here but it was rather expensive! Would have made cleaning chicken poop a breeze 😁
It’s a tad unusual here to do porcelain flooring anywhere but the kitchen or bathroom.

Yes, it was a bit more expensive and definitely a lot more labor intensive but I think it was worth it. It was the durability that sold me. I did not wanna be doing flooring again, ever if at all possible 😂

When I redo my kitchen someday, I am thinking brick floors and those nifty concrete countertops. I don't love diy so if I am doing it, I am doing it one darn time of I can help it!

Flooring talk tax:

I hate to say this, but either she is really curious about the camera...or...I won't say it because I might get smacked because you are in love with an adorable little chick.
Go ahead and say it. She is on the watch list now I guess. Of course she would be. I get smitten with one and darn it, it turns out to be a boy. Deep down if these silkies hatch I am terrified of hatching out all boys.

Wow, I just can't believe how big they are. And what lovely spangles they are getting already! Can't wait to see the coloring with their final baby/juvenile molt!:love:love:love

Oh, and btw: I think you should breed Avalon - she must have a few special genes to get that pretty PINK speckling!

:lau Amazing the strength of the reflection off your shirt with her - makes the white in her breast actually look pink. Can you imagine what you could charge for her offspring if she really did have PINK speckling?

I'm sorry to say that the little chick didn't make it. She was out of the shell, but she died. I don't know how to use a spoiler, so just don't look if your sensitive.
I'm really bummed out. I didn't see any more pips or hear any chirps. I may take the eggs in to candle them, and probably incubate them until/if they hatch.
I buried the little cheeper behind a fence close to my coop.
RIP baby. Sorry that you couldn't live in my flock.
Awlll, I am so sorry Pastel. I lost one that pipped and zipped but seemed to have shirk wrapped somehow, I didn’t think that could happen under a broody but it sure did. I lost another one due to a hernia. Several others never zipped. Weird things with hatches happen often.

I just want you to know your not alone, and there was likely nothing you could have done to save it.

After you candle them, do what feels right to you there are no wrong choices here only different ones.

Ha, I would make a fortune! Yes, my shirt was very pink indeed.

They are HUGE seriously, I knew they would be big but goodness they are 7 weeks old and half the size of my OG crew already. I am very much looking forward to seeing them after they molt!

Better pics of them are in this post. The mug pictures are part of the many blooper pics I had trying to get the good ones 😂

Awww I'm sorry. :hugs
Thank you. Before I got home, I stopped at TSC and they still had the Brahma pullets. I was BEGGING my mom to let me get some. They only had two or three.
I knew that there was a reason a voice was in my head telling me to get them.
Maybe in a few days if I still want chicks...
I may take Willows eggs (because she looks so depressed, poor thing. She feels so bad.) And just incubate them. I feel bad for saying this, but I don't trust her.
I knew that something would go wrong. It was an all (or mostly) black chick too.
Sorry Pastel and Splotch.
