She likes the chokeberry bush

Cholo IV is acting sluggish today so we're giving him and Goldie some water with electrolytes and some wet starter and grower. If he doesn't perk up we'll bring him inside to recuperate. Might be time to give everyone some electrolytes.
Poor guy, the heat is worse than the cold I think, hard to get anywhere to cool down.

Love your frizzle! What a lovely bantam ❤️

Yes to those wondering….

Yes I went and bought Sophia a few chicks, she just isn’t snapping out of the broody hen thing and was starting to look drawn.

So I went and grabbed a few chicks at Peavey Mart (formerly TSC), 2 Bielefelders and 2 Cream Legbars, I am hoping that’s what they are hahahaha. Whatever they are I am hoping it gets her up and out of that nest!

I love how she shuffles them under her hahaha…

Anyway she is an unknown entity for broody hen, I have no idea what to expect so hope she doesn’t all of a sudden decide ‘OMG I do t know what you are I will eat you!’.

Your right I think she was going after you and not the chick. I am sure you are hovering near by. I would give her a hour or two and then place a small dish of food and water directly in front of her and walk away. Listen for her to start talking to those chicks. Hopefully when the food is in front of her she will call them out from under her to eat. What you want to hear is her talking to those chicks even while they are under her. If she does not start rejecting them today and keeps them overnight you can relax in the morning. She will have accepted them.

Yes yes yes. This this this!!!!

We need a bybob in every company or organization, at the higher up level.

For tax, I happen to have a picture of fresh chickens 😂

I ran into chickens as a tourist in an rural area in China. Not the best pictures but the best I could do.

I wonder what breeds of chickens these are? Is that a popular breed over there do you know?

That fencing looks like netting - I am assuming there isn't the same predator load there like there would be here.

Just wanted to share. There is a canal behind the houses across the street and we have all kinds of birds, ducks, geese, etc that fly all around our houses. I have never seen a hawk or eagle, and nothing has given me concern for my chooks. This is an eurasian dove. I can hear them cooing when they are on my chimney when I'm in my living room 🥰

I am just getting some mash made up for everyone, they go mad for it so while I am home I give it to them twice a day.

I will put this in front of her and hope for the best; she isn't in a very secure nest box but I didn't want to move her and give her chicks. They should be fine there for a couple days - Henny Penny had hers there, I just made sure that the chicks couldn't fall out of the box.

Tomorrow or more likely Friday I will move her to the big crate I have and keep her there to raise them for a week or so.

I don't think the light ones are legbars, I was on Hoover's looking at the chicks and I think either Americana or Prairie Blue Bells, doesn't really matter as long as she takes to them and they all thrive 💕

Have your final 2 hatched?

Do they coo like the normal doves?

Ahhh! I am so jealous! I was just bugging my dad last night about getting some Cream Legbar and Bielfelders (and of course a hundred other breeds)
