Nope, didn't convince him. He started yelling at me because he hates chickens and never wanted any. He wanted me to turn the incubator off and let the chicks inside the eggs die. I didn't, but now if any hatch, I need to get rid of the chicks. Gosh, I'm so mad at him. He doesn't care that chickens are the only thing that i have to make me happy, since he made me stop riding.

Well, he did only agree to let Willow set if you had a home for the Chicks...so he never wanted you to keep them. I know you were hoping, but sometimes there are things that affect that that adults don't share.

Hugs for your dad. You probably don't realize it, but you constantly asking for chicks probably upsets him because he has to repeatedly say 'no'.

It is just as hard (or harder) being a parent as it is being a kid. Maybe different problems/issues, but neither is a cake walk.

So...Sheba is more than content in her wet crate. She's dumped the food and water 3 times. I'm done. What do I expect with a brain the size of an acorn?

Well, it is the way of the chicken - they have to 'work for their food' hence scratch!

If you have a clamp, you can clamp the water dish to the crate and she can't spill it!

it isn't just big chickens that like to make a mess of their water and stand in dampness. Didn't you know, the water tastes so much better if you drink while standing in it!

I have those, too! hooks on almost any crate/wire. Buuuuuuttttt, I still use these most of the time - if the wire is big enough (gaps) for the clamp to fit into/through.

Use similar to hold horse blankets on (I the stable not outside).
