I saw something that looked like half a tornado (the top half) yesterday, but nothing else. All sound here.
Since I'm already here (finallyyyy) I may as well give you an update.

On Monday my inverter decided to commit suicide while my Columbian Rocks were hatching. I had to run the generator with an extension cord so that they wouldn't die. Worked all day to fix it. Now everything is working right.

It's also been very hot here, and makes me feel that I want to go to the beach, simply put. Beach weather. The kind of heat that makes you want to just jump into some kind of body of water. But no I had to paint the window frames and install them on the second floor.

And I am trying to sell my Volt. It is a wonderful car, hybrid (this means that it can take electricity and fuel) and has a good fuel economy. Only thing is that it isn't 4 wheel drive, and I need that unless I want to be pulling it out of mud pits with Daisy (Bob, she isn't named after your Daisy. I named her Daisy before I came on BYC) who is my very helpful orange tractor.
I am looking into Toyotas now. I am also considering a Nissan. The Honda CR-V and HR-V's are pretty expensive. Oh and I am looking into the Subaru Outbacks.

That's about all that I have time to write this week. Just don't expect me on here as often I normally do. I am verrry busy, and rarely have time. Oops, I have to get to my barbecued chicken. (That is one of my Cornish Crosses, they are ready.)

I gave up on catching up... It's been a busy, uh, 8 weeks? 6 weeks?

My pullets-- they're ALL pullets!, I'm so glad I picked up a rooster for free-- have stopped chirping and now cluck. I'm so sad... they grew up so fast. They were just little puffs of fluff back in spring. I'd been planning on processing the extra roos, but... I don't have any. So... I guess I'll just have wayyyy too many eggs.

I did some demolition in my laundry room, which leaves me with a couple narrow cabinets that I'm going to repurpose into nesting boxes.

The rooster continues to be a good fella. But... he's very small. The barred rocks and easter eggers are both larger than him, and I think they're 15 weeks.

He's such a well behaved fella, I'm really not complaining. It's just kind of funny to compare him to Richard the Rooster at uni, who's a huge RIR. Still skittish of me, but it's no longer defcon5 when I approach the run.

I got a "real" salary job at my university, and I've been having a ton of fun with that! But so busy. That's what I've been caught up with lately.
It's always sad when the peeps end and the clucks start. :hugs :hugs

I love days like these. We went on safari bug hunting today. I move the garbage cans, and wood off the ground, and the chooks hunt for every bug they see. Successful in our endeavor, at least 500 bugs met their fate! And several happy hunters were satisfied with their efforts!
I love that game. Phyllis is a huge fan of moving things to eat bugs. She asks me to do that.

I made a neighbor angry today.. I warned him about the weather (Excessive Heat Warning) going to be very hot this weekend. I asked him if there’s enough water and cooling stations in his yard? I mentioned that “remember, chickens are people too!” He didn’t like me saying that! He’s not a good person to have so many animals in his home.
That makes me very sad. 😥

I turned up a bunch of dirt and bugs the other day, too. Primula, Belladonna, and Nox all participated with Hector standing guard. Then had Silver, Pear, Storm, Twirp, and Cuckoo cruise through with Whiskey, Cheetah, Pippa, Maizie, and Lark (surprised me with her) all put in appearances too. Babies were back and forth, everywhere

🎼I’ve got pumpkins in my pockets, still got pumpkins in my pockets, I’ve got pumpkins, I’ve got pumpkins, I’ve got pumpkins in my pockets.
Anyone who has never been to Chuck E Cheese in October, may not understand that joke
Sounds like you may have pumpkins elsewhere as well.........
