And, she was fully alert and pretty bright-eyed, much improved over this afternoon. Almost went after a huge fly buzzing around, but decided against moving. Ate a lot of egg and especially sunflower seeds. So I think she's more comfortable, at least for the time being.

If I had a way to keep eggs cold I would do a stand and honour pay system, but it would be hard to keep eggs cold, or from freezing in the winter.

My road get a lot of commuter traffic morning and evening so lots of potential customers.

May have to just start feeding eggs to the chickens ! Scrambled, fried, omelette….. poached!

Our neighbor takes a regular food cooler, puts ice packs in it and sets the cartons on top of them.

We candled the eggs again. 7 days to go. I was a little concerned because they seemed a little cold today, but pretty sure somebody's moving around in there! Eenie has gotten to where she pops out of the nest as soon as she hears that pop door close and me come into the coop. Goes right to water and food. I pick up the extra eggs and leave and she is back on the nest when I get back later. This weekend we'll get her separated from the others.

Our big shed will be here the 17th. Then we'll get to work. I can't wait for our new coop! I suspect it'll cost more than I like, but I'm pretty excited.

Cake has been served. Hen-Rietta has had corn, watermelon, meally worms. Iced water (because it’s hot out)

Pooh was also panting and was brave enough to sample the ice water. She first tried eating the block of ice directly but it floated away from her. So she settled for some water.

She is now looking quite like my girls snicker and doodle but several shades lighter. Beautiful girl I know you said before but what color eggs is she likely to lay? My two lay blue eggs with a bit of a green hue.

I really am so sorry. I hate that you have to go through this with Peanut. If you see this, please tell her and the other girls that I say Happy Hatch Day. Sending lots of hugs and love.
