Get some rest and drink plenty of water. The headache could easily be made worse from all the smoke and heat.

Glad you and all the chooks are ok.
Jaffar stayed inside the house with me. But 10 minutes ago I took him back out. He’s just too loud after a long night we had.
Everybody in the coop is safe. I’m going back to bed 🛌

Hidden broody nest

She's got 13 eggs. Now I know where they hid them all!

Rough location: @RebeccaBoyd you're the expert on broodies outside the coop. Good or bad spot?

Happy Fluffy Butt Friday everyone.
Bit of a disaster here - well pump has stopped working - no water.
Trying to stay calm about it until a well guy comes to look, but I fear it will be a long lead time and big $$ event.
Chickens and cats have enough water to drink for now.
Depending on what the guy says I may have to book myself into a motel nearby so I can have a working bathroom and can bring back gallon jugs of water for the critters.

As a person with well issues, I sympathize. Ours intermittently loses pressure out goes brown. We have extremely high iron in our water, though the well man tells me it's worse north of us. Drilling a new well will be $15-$20k. So well live with intermittent muddy water and always keep a few jugs of clean in reserve.

Well tax = rooster butt.

Yikes - it didn’t even occur to me that it might be an issue with the well itself.
Yikes.
Taking deep breaths - nothing I can do until the guy gets here other than finding all my hand sanitizer bottles.

Submersible pump? By the time he gets it all pulled up, fix is then simple. Attach new pump, drop it all back down, re connect, good to go. (Unless it gets dropped and he has to go fishing for it. NOT fun!) He's got all the right tools. As long as the new pump doesn't have to be ordered....
