What an adorable chicken!
Yes, after hurricane Sandy I was trapped in the house by trees and live wires down across the drive. No power which meant no water (now I have the generator).
We did have warning so I had stockpiled a huge tub of clean water which was a huge help - as was the torrential rain which I collected in buckets.
Ten days later when the road opened, but I was still trapped, I hiked to the road avoiding the wires and climbing over the trees, and got a ride to the same motel where I showered and then watched TV for an hour and then showered again!
I can live without electric light but no running water is a massive pain.

Running water tax - Babs sunbathing in the 90 degree heat. No wonder she was panting later!

Submersible pump? By the time he gets it all pulled up, fix is then simple. Attach new pump, drop it all back down, re connect, good to go. (Unless it gets dropped and he has to go fishing for it. NOT fun!) He's got all the right tools. As long as the new pump doesn't have to be ordered....

That little cutie is Tuff, a roo in training. Agreed on the lights. Can function without lighting, but lack of running water?!

Tuff is doing a wee bit better. I drained about 80ml of fluid off her abdomen, and her breathing is good this morning. She ate some layer mash I made for her, drank some sugar water and is now picking at some grass.

She was very interested in Mr P who was putting on quite the display for her through the fence. Right now she is having a conversation with Blanche.

I wonder if he comb will ever go upright again 😟
