2 words: wool socks.
Not wool but they are socks and full length slacks to keep the legs warm 😊

I have water. The guy managed to fix it!
:wee :wee

For tax payment I have Babs deploying her horticultural expertise on some late seeding grasses that need tidying up (according to Babs). I love when they use the full extent of their space.

Initial reaction: they need to see her too. If you take a companion, then the companion travels home alone....

If you take all of them, 1. Can they travel together reasonably well? 2. Can the vet check the others over at the same time?

Agree it doesn't seem right to take her alone. By that thought, it isn't right for the companion to travel home alone either, nor is it right for the one left behind to be alone. Based upon all that, I think the right way is for all to go, if possible.

I am not sure about them all going.
They like company but they also can be mean to each other. Many animals retreat from the group as they prepare to die.
My instinct is to take one and accept that the friend will be stressed on the way home but will get over it when she sees she is safely back at her coop.
So very hard.

I think it is time I blocked the Pentagonists out of their brooder house by closing the door.
Fun as it would be to see Tassels get stuck in the doorway in the way in or out, I am worried about heat, ventilation, and air flow. The brooder is open on all sides with hardware cloth but has a solid roof. With five big chickens in there I am worried that heat and ammonia will build up.
I am sure there will be a big ruckus about this and a lot of distress but I think it is time they left their baby home.
Anyone think I am about to do the wrong thing?
I also think it is time to evict them. Sometimes children need a little push.

Pressure valve. That is the thing that controls the pump.
He said my whole setup is old so I should be prepared for it to fail at some point and that it will be a big job when it happens. But no need to do it today.
