Busy and productive day today. Me and dad went to work this morning and turned 2 stalls into 1. Moved Russ back in and the poor guy just froze for 10 minutes right where the dividing boards used to be. He misses Louis. Hollered for him several times yesterday and today. Dirt could care less. Mom and Rosie have spent the day out front rearranging the tomato's. 5 feet tall cages are not going to work, they are growing and growing fast so they have built a contraption onto the porch for them to grow up on and stabilize. They are covered in both blooms and baby tomatoes. I want fried green tomatoes so bad I cannot stand it. Threatened with death if I touch them before we get the first ripe one. They are beefsteak so looks like at least another week or more before they start turning. I WILL have fried green tomatoes next month. Mom has had to have 2 crying breaks in her work today. First one this morning when she saw they had turned Louis out into the pasture where he was having the time of his life. The 2nd one just 30 minutes ago when Keegan rode Louis up to show off his new tack colors. Louis looks good in orange. He actually wanted Rosie and Russ to come riding with him but she is busy. Keegan ended up working for his aunt and helped build a shed so he paid for Louis himself. Was laughing and said his dad has already offered to give his money back so he could claim Louis and buy him another horse. It isn't happening. We had Louis 5 1/2 years, when he left a piece of mom's heart left with him.

Not only should this be submitted for picture of the week, this need entered into the calendar contest as well. Lovely, just lovely.
This was the other one I took but mama looked a bit crazy hahaha

I am so happy he has a young rider who will spoil him rotten, and someone for Rosie to ride with also. I am sure your dad will also be going along 😊

What’s with the silkie chickie? I take it the other egg was a no go?

I ended up with 1 chick. A perfectly healthy, happy and already eating and drinking chick. I am disappointed and now nervous that I only ended up with 1. We all know all I want is a black pullet so this little one has a lot riding on its shoulders. I think tomorrow Perdita will be ready to bring it off the nest. Thankfully I have everyone EXCEPT Goose broke from being broody. I will find another way to fight and break Goose and give them the freshly cleaned coop to themselves for the first week, or two.

Everyone jokes about bubble wrapping accident prone horses. I am contemplating ways to bubble wrap my silkie chick.
Yep I hear ya, have one of those horses, who to this day is still trying to kill herself off.

I imagine you will be anxious for a while. I am so sorry the other eggs didn’t pan out.

Awll, the very definition of bittersweet. I am glad he went to a good home and is nearby so she can visit with him but losing a beloved pet is always hard no matter the circumstances.
