The 45ml is written on the instruction given to us. Now I wish I had checked the capacity of chicken crop. The whole vet experience was just weird. It was endless waiting and not much talking. I think they mostly get rabbits and reptiles. They do get cockatoo a lot too. Anyway, the outcome has been promising so far.

This afternoon we tube fed her 25-30ml. Her crop was obviously not empty, but not too full. I think I did much better this time around. Today she has been passing a lot of dirt/straw stuff.

The princess Owly herself. There was some doubt early on with her being a girl or boy. Not anymore, this is a pullet I am sure of it.

The shade cloth is up, or, as I call it, the black sails. It's still very breezy today, with the wind coming from the south and going right in the doors, so the fans are not woth bothering with. I know the shade will help the run. Hopefully the coop. View attachment 3590776
Is currently 96 out and in the coop...also 96. At least it's not hotter inside. Eenie and the triplets aren't panting. There's plenty of cold water, electrolytes, and damp earth for everyone outside. That's about all I can do. Can't wait to have a better coop.

They've actually lowered the temps in the forecast. Hopefully they lower more. View attachment 3590785

That looks like it will do the job. If the coop stays the same as outside that is a victory. Good job.

It is still Thursday and they are still thirsty.
There is a big ruckus going on. Some kind of squabble about cauliflower. Babs it turns out really likes the white cauliflower florets.
Sharing is not high on her priorities right now!

Mr Rico is darn lucky I do not move all that well or can bend down all that well or he would be chicken dinner tonight.

He got ahold of Tuff and had her on her side trying to molester her - poor Tuff! I wacked Rico off her and she just lay there poor old girl. She is in my office now, hiding out with me. Rico's days are numbered though, if he is going to be a beast then I can do with out that crap - I have too many old girls here. At least Penne stays out with the Grups and Mr P, who keeps him in line.

So who gets locked away? Tuff for her safety? or Rico to protect the other old gals from him?

If you can't get Mr. P to keep track of Rico, then lock him up.

There would be a battle with me over getting that cauliflower There is never leftover cauliflower here, but my gang does like it I have brought it for them before.

To be honest I was surprised. Mine are a bit disdainful of my kitchen scraps except left over cat food and tomato cores.
I haven’t cooked the cauliflower yet - I was just chopping it up and scraped the chopping board into the chicken food bowl.
Now I know how much she loves it I will pull some from my planned dinner for her.

LOL...we're lucky that we have those 6' tent poles. We do medieval re-creation, so our camping looks a little different from most folks.
