Him being lonely will be good for him. He doesn't have to stay locked up, just for a day or so.
I will keep him and the other Roos under wraps tomorrow, give all the ladies a break from them.

I want to get the ladies integrated without having to run the gauntlet with the randy Roos.

They are getting along really well, when to throw down scratch or left overs they join in on the scrum, and everyone gets a bit, even Tuff gets in on the action for leftovers! She is quite good with the pecks to the youngsters trying to get her grub!

the last horse bred, born, and raised at the in-laws is named Shock (lightning struck near his father shortly after he was born and sterilized the stud). Shock is a dapple grey. Otherwise it would be under consideration too.
That’s awesome! So did they geld the poor old boy so he could at least run with the herd? Seeing as how he is a dud?

Edit: by awesome I mean the name 😊

Go take a closer look at pics of Mr P. I think they'll end up very close to the same. Chicks eye color shifts as they grow. The bay eye color isn't something they have at hatch.
Yes I see what you mean, they seem almost amber in colour. And with those butterscotch coloured neck feathers it’s a strange combo.

I will need to spend more time with her now I know she is a she, I didn’t want to get too attached to her if she turned out to be a boy, as it is Diamond is a gentle soul for a Roo. He is a sweetie, I am very careful not to spend too much time with him.

Even Penne I have to be careful not to coddle him. He was such a nice baby when I thought he was a she 😟

Muffy and esp Petunia are very sweet and like to come a sit with me, an hop up on my chair in my lap. Eli-too also fairly good to handle. But I didn’t spend the time with Butterscotch.

And Tippy is wild as the wind! Always was even as a baby. She should soon start getting ready to lay, I wonder what colour eggs she will lay. Sophia lays dark brown with speckles.

It’s still 25C (77F) with a humidex of 31C (88F), it’s just humid and clammy, you can see the humidity, like fog. The poor chooks and horses are very uncomfortable, I have the two box fans long full tilt in the Hen House on a timer to go off at 1:30am.

I need another box fan for the Summer House, I thought I had one but I guess not.

I turned off the horses fans as I don’t have a timer for their fans, guess I should order a few on Amazon for the horses.

Humid tax

Yes. Thirsty got fixed too. In fact my Youngest was up on him learning to ride (4 or 5 i think) and he tried some crow hopping. Kid just slid deeper in the saddle and hung on tight. Luckily, Thirsty's hopping settled right back down. He's gone now, but they still have Shock. He's in his early 20s, I think....

Thirsty 😊
A good tale for today 😁

All right. I will ask her. I have been harboring a question.
Ask Aurora

Dear Aurora,
Perhaps you may have answered this question already. I am sorry to trouble you with such a simple yet puzzling question. The hooman said that the ancient greaks (whatever they are) have been asking this question ever since they had an empire.
The question is this: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Surprisingly Tractor Supply has a good selection from 3 ml to 30 ml.
I find that I am better with the 10ml syringe as my hands are small, I fill multiple of them up with meds for the horses and if I need to give say 60ml of diactil (anti-gaz) I fill up 6 syringes the horses appreciate to smaller doses also.

I just line up a the syringes and a start dosing. I bet tube feeding might be easier like that.

Mr Rico is darn lucky I do not move all that well or can bend down all that well or he would be chicken dinner tonight.

He got ahold of Tuff and had her on her side trying to molester her - poor Tuff! I wacked Rico off her and she just lay there poor old girl. She is in my office now, hiding out with me. Rico's days are numbered though, if he is going to be a beast then I can do with out that crap - I have too many old girls here. At least Penne stays out with the Grups and Mr P, who keeps him in line.

So who gets locked away? Tuff for her safety? or Rico to protect the other old gals from him?
I'd say Rico gets locked away. In freezer camp?
