Hello everyone-
I have some catching up to do. On Monday I had my first appointment and I decided to participate in a trial they have. It may reduce the probability that I will have a recurrence and it is a low risk trial. I will get a series of shots of the flu vaccine which should act like biologics do and prompt my own immune system to fight the cancer. Crazy cool medical advances! Then I will have surgery on the 31st of this month.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and you have this. 6 years ago my mom had what she thought of as a simple freckle on her ankle develop into skin cancer. Thankfully it was caught early and they were able to remove it all and she did not have to have further treatment. It was shocking though how much they removed, tiny spot yet to get it all they went deep and removed a area about a inch in diameter. That spot took a few months to fully heal. It is funny and she laughs now as she has never been one for tattoo's. The resulting scar shape resembles a odd flower on her ankle. She claims she got tattooed the hard way.
