So, someone has probably already mentioned it - but can you massage it's crop? Especially at the bottom, where a blockage is more likely to be if it is squishy. I know, their crops are tiny - but you must have fairly nimble fingers to play?????
Good post 💕

And a nice massage may feel good, will be checking in later to see how this baby is doing.

Awlll they are so pretty 😍 and all grown up! it happens so fast, I never get over how quickly they go from tiny fuzzy balls of floof to full grown so rapidly.
Yes I know what you mean! My BIL popped by yesterday on his way home from work, his comment was ‘you can’t walk in here, there are chickens everywhere!’.

Of course then he made the mistake of throwing down some scratch and he was mobbed 😁 hahahahaha.

Caturday Saturday

Missy checking out the cheeky chipmunks 😁

I would just keep any meetings short and very blunt; can’t remember if you keep a log or not of any interaction with her, when I had a young ACM making inappropriate comments to me I kept a log and emailed it to myself each time I made an entry, that way I had a time stamp on it.

I like the idea of replying back to her in an email - make sure to BCC yourself and your private personal email also.

Hope you’re feeling better today 🥰🥰🥰
I agree. @bgmathteach you should write an email to her thanking her for calling you at home after you had left a message saying you were sick and apologizing that you were unable to interrupt your vomiting in order to discuss work with her.
Keep a copy.
How is that union action going?
A good manager would have sent you a text asking if they could help by sending some meals to the house.

They're making peace...slowly...View attachment 3600122View attachment 3600121Castor has Sherlock afraid of the kitty, stepping wary around him. Growling is almost non-existent and hissing only within about 4 feet. They're making progress. (Sleeping about 5.5 feet apart....)
Poor Castor :) not used to a rambunctious puppy who will soon be way bigger - good to establish ground rules for being tromped on early :D

YES - great idea. Love that suggestion!.

When I was sick my co-worker texted me but as I was too ill to read the text I never received it. I asked her 'why didn't you just call the house my Mum would have told you how I was'. She had no good answer or that...

And then when the HR manager said the same thing 'why didn't you answer our text'. I also told her 'if you were that concerned for my health why didn't you just pick up the phone and call my house - my Mum would have answered and told you how I was'. Again no good answer for that. I think they thought Covid was just a 'cold'.

At any rate @bgmathteach I sure hope you're feeling better, and can just relax for the weekend. Is this a long weekend for the US also?

Poops look normal, nothing like what I understand coccidiosis looks like if that's an idea. Mostly soft-firm poops. Am using medicated chick "Starter-Grower" 18% from Nutrena. Also still have the Sav-A-Chick electrolytes in the water, could that be overkill? The second chick is not near death yet, but definitely not acting right and the crop is different.
I just also wanted to say that I used a spoon with a pointy end on it to 'tap' at food I put in a shallow tray for my chicks, it really encouraged them to eat, and conditioned them to come running for food and treats later on. You can try to tap with a shiny item at the food to stimulate eating in this one chick.

Are their poops normal? Are you using medicated chick feed?
The second chick died in the night as I expected. The three remaining all have normal crops, soft but not large yet. Acting very normal.
Just found this this morning, I see a bit of suspicious dark bloody red blobs, on the right side from about 1 to 4 o'clock in the pics. I've removed the electrolyte water in case they're getting more B vitamins that are overcoming the medicated feed (just a theory?).

I had a horrible thought upon waking up, that mold might be the culprit - The box came from the barn second floor and I didn't disinfect it with chemicals, just wiped it down with a dry cloth. Some things up there have had mildew before being put up there. The box was near a motorcycle jacket and other jackets dear to DH that he refused to throw out that definitely are mildewy. And then also I thought of the wood chips, the bag was unopened with heavy plastic but it's been sitting on a damp floor in the barn for months.

I'm moving everybody into the clean tote for now with just paper towels for flooring.
I'm going to look inside the poor chick that died last night, on the theory if it's aspergillosis there might be visible white nodules.
