You did your very best. They were with a loving parent. Two of my hens died on Sunday. They were sick for a few days and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I finally figured out it was Coccidiosis and rushed out to TSC to get Corrid. When I got back, Eclipse was already dead. I gave Frost corrid, but a few hours later i noted her neck was lolled as she was laying down. I picked her up and sat down with her because she was still alive. I started crying and hugging her and she started having death spasms in my arms and died.
They were both super special, but Frost was an awesome guinea. Maybe it's because her mom is my favorite guinea in the world, but I just feel awful. I feel like I let them down.
Good night!Good night lovely people. See ya all soon
Thank you ❤❤ I'm still at a loss of words from losing them, but also the time and thought you put into this.![]()
Yes you will get better at coping with your grief. It’s extra hard to lose pets close together, you just lost your dog in April. And it’s hard when your empathy (a very good thing to have though) causes you to feel others’ loss too. Crying is not bad, it’s part of how you get through all of this. Feeling lost is not bad either, it’s natural and always feels to me like an in-between thing, for me it’s part of processing grief. Grief is not a one-way street. It goes in cycles, feeling all the ways you do, cycling up and down through it.
So it helps to take extra care of yourself and what you expose yourself to. It can help to go back to some things that are comforting and give you some joy and distraction, from a good book you loved, to comedies (I stop watching any intense or upsetting movies for awhile), your good friends - the ones you are comfortable with and accept you for who you are, and especially by paying extra attention to the pets and animals still in your care, they feel the loss too.![]()

Thank you. It certainly is. It makes me happy that she died with me holding her, but also terribly sad.I'm so very very sorry this happened. It is a deeply moving experience when they pass in your arms.![]()

Luckily before she passed, I took Frost out and sat with her on the grass. Poor Eclipse was already gone.
So far, only you and all of my friends , (worldwide) have seen it.What a nice bro. But I wouldn't show Jaffar if I was you.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, as I know nothing about chicken genders, but does (Sylvie?) Look like a cockerel? And here is a 2fer 2 wish you all a happy Tuesday
