Randy Rooster! Rico and Penne have been carving out their positions- it’s interesting to watch.Jaffar is being a turdto me this afternoon. He ran up to me , I said “don’t you dare bite me” but he did (right on my ankle. I picked him up and he bit my arm as I held him. What a sour old man he is acting like! Probably showing off to the ladies, who came to see if I had any treats. It’s total chaos, mayhem, unnecessary behavior!

He sees you as No 2 and he as the head Roo. He is putting you in your place. He’s supposed to be my buddy, my number two. Special roo. To treat me like this is wrong! Makes me want to cry!![]()
Oh now you’re in for it! They have had a taste of freedom and now they will not be held back! They want up!
Plus they want to party late...
A couple of afternoon excursions out to the left window shelf via the new inverted perch (taped securely) and then the tote edge was a hit. Great views but the debris in the window channel and the lamp base texture was way more interesting. Helpful shelf liner added to the edge...and they're experts (more and less) at getting up there.

I'd done their brooder clean up & food refresh earlier but the changeout of water mix and dish remained, so..... "Yay! Let's go again!"
This one suddenly had bigger plans. Climb we will! If this is Anna, maybe she's Anna Purna

She decided to wait for another day. Actually the desk and lights to the right looked more promising....

She went back home. (And did not poop on my bass case!)
The wing colors on the marked light one look like a mixed stone, so Granite came to mind. Also Marble, Quartz.View attachment 3603960Pics from last night.View attachment 3603961Still debating names on the 2 light ones. No clues on gender yet, either.
White one: Spark, Ion, Electrode, Lumos?
Marked one: zero ideas yet. I think it's VERY clear that it's NOT from Storm's eggs. Has to be one of the brown eggs. Going to write out thoughts on, see if something shakes out on who laid the egg.
Brown egg layers:
Silver
Pear
Cuckoo: lays giant sized eggs, so not her
Jessica: was broody, so couldn't have laid it
Mera: just finished being broody, not sure if laying again yet.
Nox: lays skinny (longish, narrow) eggs so wrong shape
Primula: lays almost round, creamy toned eggs in corner of coop
Belladonna: lays similar eggs in nest boxes
Leaves Silver or Pear. Light tone of down makes me think could be silver-washed gold, so Silver with either Cheetah or Whiskey? would expect some grey tones in the down from the Colombian coloring, but another mystery. Just ran a Cheetah x Silver through genetics calc: if it's correct, then the extra light tones mean it's a roo. (Pullet would show more orange). If this one is Silver's, I'm delighted. Her genetics need to continue.
Haven't been able to get a good look at combs on any of them. The Whiskey x Storm babies should all be straight comb. Babies are 2 weeks now, so could pop wattles starting next week. Storm still won't let anyone near her babies (good).
Lucia? as in St. Lucia Celebrated by nordish people on the winter solstice - the coming of the light/longer days.White one: Spark, Ion, Electrode, Lumos?
It ranged from really fast rain dumps to a long 10 minute rain storm with thunder and lightning with wind. Last night it was a rain dump with wind.Be careful!
