Plus they want to party late...

A couple of afternoon excursions out to the left window shelf via the new inverted perch (taped securely) and then the tote edge was a hit. Great views but the debris in the window channel and the lamp base texture was way more interesting. Helpful shelf liner added to the edge...and they're experts (more and less) at getting up there.

I'd done their brooder clean up & food refresh earlier but the changeout of water mix and dish remained, so..... "Yay! Let's go again!"

Oh I am so glad they are out and about and doing crazy things.

The wing colors on the marked light one look like a mixed stone, so Granite came to mind. Also Marble, Quartz.

I like all three of those.

Lucia? as in St. Lucia Celebrated by nordish people on the winter solstice - the coming of the light/longer days.

I still like the lightning connection, but this does have some possibilities.

Lightning stone of some sort for the white one.... going to go look at rock properties..


Edit: Chert is a light form or rock, like Flint (a dark rock). Both are types of Quartz and produce sparks when struck with Steel. Quartz also conducts electricity fairly well.

Now pondering Granite and Chert or Quartz for the 2 light chicks.

I'm so sorry. That has to be so frustrating.

I didn't announce it last week but I lost 2 of my favorite roosters. A naked neck who was the son of Big Boy and Blackie, who was half EE and half Japanese bantam. Lety had loaned them out for breeding purposes and they were stolen along with several of the hens that belongs to Lety's friends. I was furious but powerless to do anything about it.
