I didn't announce it last week but I lost 2 of my favorite roosters. A naked neck who was the son of Big Boy and Blackie, who was half EE and half Japanese bantam. Lety had loaned them out for breeding purposes and they were stolen along with several of the hens that belongs to Lety's friends. I was furious but powerless to do anything about it.

Oh no! I am so sorry about that. And chicken thieves???!!!

Well, they are stealing livestock, so I don't know. Whatever they have for livestock thieves I guess.
Most people don't get that chickens aren't just livestock, they're our pets.

Here, it's still legal to hang cattle rustlers too. Of course, it's also on the books that if you spend 7+ days in jail, you are to be given a rifle and a horse upon release. Causes some problems as only felonies are locked up that long and those ban possession of firearms.... (jail, not prison).

There's also the defense of your property laws.
