Change of plans re: panels…Rico was able to get out of his crate and this morning I found him in the Summer House on the side with my nieces hens. So they are his harem, I am going to take the panels down separating the Summer House and just let them all roam in there. My only worry is with Red and Tuff. Those two are rather fragile, but I will ensure they are not harassed by any of those Randy Roos.
I'm super glad to hear that.@BY Bob @RoyalChick @Ponypoor @everyone
Tina is really doing wellThank you everyone for your help with Tina and Mr.Pusscat
Thank you. It certainly is. It makes me happy that she died with me holding her, but also terribly sad.
Luckily before she passed, I took Frost out and sat with her on the grass. Poor Eclipse was already gone.
I love the barred pattern on the white ones wings - very unusualView attachment 3603960Pics from last night.View attachment 3603961Still debating names on the 2 light ones. No clues on gender yet, either.
White one: Spark, Ion, Electrode, Lumos?
Marked one: zero ideas yet. I think it's VERY clear that it's NOT from Storm's eggs. Has to be one of the brown eggs. Going to write out thoughts on, see if something shakes out on who laid the egg.
Brown egg layers:
Silver
Pear
Cuckoo: lays giant sized eggs, so not her
Jessica: was broody, so couldn't have laid it
Mera: just finished being broody, not sure if laying again yet.
Nox: lays skinny (longish, narrow) eggs so wrong shape
Primula: lays almost round, creamy toned eggs in corner of coop
Belladonna: lays similar eggs in nest boxes
Leaves Silver or Pear. Light tone of down makes me think could be silver-washed gold, so Silver with either Cheetah or Whiskey? would expect some grey tones in the down from the Colombian coloring, but another mystery. Just ran a Cheetah x Silver through genetics calc: if it's correct, then the extra light tones mean it's a roo. (Pullet would show more orange). If this one is Silver's, I'm delighted. Her genetics need to continue.
Haven't been able to get a good look at combs on any of them. The Whiskey x Storm babies should all be straight comb. Babies are 2 weeks now, so could pop wattles starting next week. Storm still won't let anyone near her babies (good).
Beautiful!I went out to get some pictures of the speckled suspects as alex calls them. They did not make it easy as they wanted to hide in the tall grass and weeds next door. Smart on their part as they no longer have their mother watching over them. Difficult for me as I need body shots of them.

9 weeks old now. Those speckled suspects had better be pullets.
How about Light for the white one then? With permission from @lightm .....View attachment 3603960Pics from last night.View attachment 3603961Still debating names on the 2 light ones. No clues on gender yet, either.
