I am so close to the Canadian Shield that boulders abound here, there used to be a random boulder on the side of the road (at least 3' high), I used to ride my horse past it for years. Then one day that boulder went missing.... the horse noticed it right away and was freaking out, 'where did the boulder go, oh no I am scared'.... - got her past the spot then when we got up the hill to my neighbour's driveway, there was that great old boulder parked in her front yard! Of course my horse noticed it too - more freaking out, 'that wasn't there yesterday, why is that boulder there'.I love @Rural mouse’s rocks too. I have fine clay silt soil barely a pebble and never lovely big rocks like those.
I would be quite happy to 'loan you' a few of mine - our soil is rocks and gravel - so have plenty to share!I love @Rural mouse’s rocks too. I have fine clay silt soil barely a pebble and never lovely big rocks like those.
I would love some big boulder accent pieces - but they would probably look pretty weird here as there aren’t any other rocks around.I am so close to the Canadian Shield that boulders abound here, there used to be a random boulder on the side of the road (at least 3' high), I used to ride my horse past it for years. When I talked with her she told me the township moved it for her, they were fixing the road and ditches so they got rid of it by parking in her front yard as an accent piece
Now if I had that great behemoth here the chickens would go gaga! Of course the fencing wouldn't keep them in then. Actually I am surprised they aren't flying over the 5' horse fence portion, seeing as how they can fly up on those 6' panels!
Oh Kelly bite your tongue - sheesh don't tempt the Fates!
I want huge ones. Some I could sit on and the chickens would love to play on them. Don’t think I could lift them though!I would be quite happy to 'loan you' a few of mine - our soil is rocks and gravel - so have plenty to share!
@featherhead007 you are slacking on your game!I would love some big boulder accent pieces - but they would probably look pretty weird here as there aren’t any other rocks around.
And come on people, all this talk of rocks and we aren’t getting any chicken rocks thrown back at us?
We have big ones, trust me. Would make a nice height for sitting on - and for the chooks to fly onto and poop on - more cushioning for your next sitting session!I want huge ones. Some I could sit on and the chickens would love to play on them. Don’t think I could lift them though!
I guess I could make some concrete rocks - or do as I do now and settle for tree stumps.
Yep I was thinking that earlier, but waited to see what would come of it.@featherhead007 you are slacking on your game!
I haven't gotten any pics since I've been sick. Will have to rectify that this weekend.......
