I don't think you have missed an answer to Twilight's question - I get the sense that both Aurora and @BY Bob are very busy with other things right now so we haven't seen any answers recently.
Very happy to hear about Ginger's recovery.
I may have missed twilight question as I have been missing for days myself. Can you link to it please @LhickenChicken and tag me.

I’m not sure what is going on with my chooks. I have six laying hens, but only received three eggs daily ( lucky to get those) maybe the heat has stopped them from laying? Are they well? Is there a feed problem? I have one customer who buys the eggs from me every week, but supply is slow and demand is high! :he
laying every other day - especially in your heat -is good - they aren't in their first year of lay when they are in top laying form. Geez - be happy they aren't heavy producers and at risk of all sorts of 'female problems' because of that!

Happy Tuesday everyone.
Here are two pretty chickens.

And I could do with some advice.
It seems to me that Bernie is becoming more actively aggressive to the Pentagonists.
Could it be something to do with them getting closer to laying? She particularly has it in for Sylvie who I think is getting close - her comb and face are red and she has checked out nest boxes and oyster shell.
I thought they would become more acceptable to the flock queen as they came into lay. Have others seen this? It is not yet drawing blood and the Pentagonisys are fast and fly well so they escape pretty well. Any experience? Anything I can do (probably not)?
The Buckeyes were somewhat hard on Queenie but she was already getting pecked and was very submissive prior to laying. I did observe how they were chasing and moving and rearranged things for better evasion. I added one or two new obstacles (one was an upside down bucket to better divide the narrow coop run area). I didn’t and still don’t have much in the way of good visual blocks. Your areas are pretty great in that regard, with corners one can’t see around.

I’m thinking of bringing one of the chooks in with me for tonight. But which one?🤔
I would like to sleep in tomorrow morning. That leaves Jaffar out. Xzit has an attitude today. Bobo is a candidate, but she’s not the one tonight. Maybe Coco? No. Shenandoah?.. no
Flash? Not my first choice. Hen-Rietta? I don’t think she’d want to be inside tonight either. That leaves Dakota. But I don’t want her in either. Never mind. I’m going to just be alone for tonight and maybe read a book.
Maybe that new one by Steven King “The Loft” :gig

Yeah...you definitely don't need a woman who doesn't REALLY like chickens.

Husband finally got home from work and we went and moved Eenie and the littles to the platform. Of course, I again managed to get a hand under Uno again! So an unhappy Uno and Eenie were placed on the platform. An unhappy Manny who doesnt like his snuggles disrupted made his displeasure known...and an unhappy Tres, was then plopped next to Mom last. But it went faster than before and they settled faster than before, so I guess that's progress.

I wanted to tell you what's been going on here and why I wasn't here for so long. If I missed the answer to Twilight's question could someone please link it here? She has threatened to stop laying her beautiful green eggs if I don't give her the answer and lately she has been screeching at me in the nest box.

I was away because some family came over and of course I was spending time with them. It was quite enjoyable but of course I couldn't go on BYC, which is why I may have missed the answer to Twilight's question, as well as some other important events. I have also missed the synopsis for the last three weeks :oops:I just hope it's not too much for you guys to link it for me. I will also pay tax for all the time I have been away.
But on the bright side, I haven't lost any chickens, and Ginger recovered from Salpingitis. I treated her with amoxicillin and she laid a regular egg in a week. She's back with her fellow hens and is laying eggs fine! I'm so happy she's okay now.
I'm so pleased ginger had recovered 😀

So has Tina, she has come through beautifully on amoxicillin. Amoxicillin is good stuff 👍

I think she's pregnant with an elephant now because she has not stopped eating

That's great news Marie!

I'm honestly thrilled to bits Bob.

To think little Agatha on survived 10 months after getting out of the caged prison and Tina has been here a year and a half next Month. This will make her 3 and a half, she's really living the life.

I can put her Box back outside now because she had fully recovered

I've started slightly fermenting their food but only about 4 feeds a week. I'm still waiting for this chick probiotic to arrive so hopefully this fermentation and yogurt a couple of times a week will tide them over
