First, what Sally said is exactly right. If you don't want to date, be direct but polite. But there's no reason you can't meet for coffee and conversation, unless you don't even want that.

I've remained friends with my grad school boyfriend. He's met my husband, been to my house, we exchange birthday and Christmas cards, etc. He decided one night when we were at some gathering, to kiss me! Now, I've kissed him...a little brotherly peck...in front of my husband. That's fine. My hubs is the least jealous man I've ever known. But this was not an attempt at that kind of kiss and my husband was no where around! Talk about awkward! I cut that right off, got the heck away from him and haven't let myself be alone with him since! This was years ago and he got the hint...but wow! Way to tarnish a friendship.

So...back to chickens...Sheba continues to puzzle me. She remains my best layer. An egg every day. Tonight she blessed us with this! Egg on the left is yesterday's normal egg. Today's is on the right!!!View attachment 3610267

That poor girl! Double yolk? It'll be interesting to find out.
I owe taxes too:

I wanted to tell you what's been going on here and why I wasn't here for so long. If I missed the answer to Twilight's question could someone please link it here? She has threatened to stop laying her beautiful green eggs if I don't give her the answer and lately she has been screeching at me in the nest box.

I was away because some family came over and of course I was spending time with them. It was quite enjoyable but of course I couldn't go on BYC, which is why I may have missed the answer to Twilight's question, as well as some other important events. I have also missed the synopsis for the last three weeks :oops:I just hope it's not too much for you guys to link it for me. I will also pay tax for all the time I have been away.
But on the bright side, I haven't lost any chickens, and Ginger recovered from Salpingitis. I treated her with amoxicillin and she laid a regular egg in a week. She's back with her fellow hens and is laying eggs fine! I'm so happy she's okay now.

I’m not sure what is going on with my chooks. I have six laying hens, but only received three eggs daily ( lucky to get those) maybe the heat has stopped them from laying? Are they well? Is there a feed problem? I have one customer who buys the eggs from me every week, but supply is slow and demand is high! :he

I don't think you have missed an answer to Twilight's question - I get the sense that both Aurora and @BY Bob are very busy with other things right now so we haven't seen any answers recently.
Very happy to hear about Ginger's recovery.

Wow poor hen! That’s a whopper of an egg.
