Mornin! The girls put themselves to bed last night, which was a relief because I wasn't sure I'd be able to catch them with a migraine aura. And this morning they were very happy to see me!

As usual, Ash was the first one out (she got out before I could get the picture. Kasumi was hot on her tail, Liara, then Shep stayed behind to let the others out first. She's so much bigger than they are! I love her fluffy legs.

She is just trying really hard to let you know that she isn't a 'legbar', she's a Leghorn through and through!! (she heard that you love leghorns - she missed the memo about you wanting blue eggs....or else Aurora hid it, so she wouldn't be 1-upped in that department!)

Thank you. No the chickens, horses, dogs and cats are a needed distraction. They need daily care no matter what is going on. A silent prayer of mine has also been answered. Rosie needed someone, anyone close to her age who shared a similar interest in horses to move close by. The big house down at the barn has been rented. A family with 11 children between them rented it, 7 living their full time. In all that chaos Rosie has a new friend who loves horses, and is 6 months younger then her. Russ has recovered fully from the stone bruise and his teeth are all taken care of. For the last almost 3 weeks Rosie has missed 1 week of riding while she was sick, just one. During the week she gets off the bus and runs in shouting she has 15 minutes to get Russ ready they are hitting the trails. As long as she has no homework have fun. A few times, like last night I have had to march down to the barn to remind her it is after dark on a school night get her butt home. The anger does not last for more then a second though, it fades instantly watching them trying to catch their horses they had turned out in the pasture to cool down and the boys playing catch me if you can. Does it bother me that Rosie's new friend is a boy, nope. I welcome the change I have saw in her. He is a confidant and more then anyone he knows what she is going through right now simply because he is going through a very similar situation himself. His grandfather who is is very close to is recently diagnosed with cancer, terminal and has had to move in with them. According to Rosie she can tell him anything that is bothering her with grandma, even vent and rant. He listens, says nothing negative about her feelings then unloads himself to her over his own situation. For the first time in a year and a half right now I can honestly say that through all the stress, at this moment Rosie is ok and will be ok. I have that to hang onto right now and am very thankful for it.

A good friend is such a precious gift. I'm so glad that someone has come into her life to do that role. How blessed she is.
