This moving eggs thing is really getting crazy.
This morning Babs and Bernie have taken turns in rearranging the eggs.
As far as I can see neither have yet contributed their own egg, but they have very firm, and very different views on the correct arrangement of the ceramic eggs.
Here is Babs relocating the egg that Bernie so carefully placed only three minutes earlier.
I do hope the Odd Couple don’t fall out over this issue!

This is one of the funniest things I have heard of chickens doing.

The saga continues.
Babs failed to eject the egg. Bernie moved into the nest box and they discussed the egg situation.

Then Bernie took the egg for herself.

Then Babs decided that if you want something done well you have to do it yourself and she came in to more closely manage the egg situation

And she decided to adopt the egg herself while Bernie stood outside shouting instructions.

Hysterical. 😆

There is lots of room in my coop for Karen. Especially if she chooses to be broody. I would love to have a hen hatch eggs here at Cluckingham! I could ask Jaffar, he’s the local magistrate for the tribe.
Seriously, chart a flight plan. I need to downsize a few hens but it is hard choosing which to let go. Karen is desperate to be a mother, I have had to break her every time this year. I know I have stated if a girl went broody towards the middle of September I would let them hatch. With everything in life going on at the moment and the limited time I have to be outside I cannot take on the stress of a hen incubating and then rearing chicks. I will also let Blueberries daughter Ducky go as a companion. She also has went broody twice this year and was broken up. Until the dust settles in my life, and I think you all know what I am implying no hen is allowed to be broody.
