Probably right it is about 6 hours drive. Any relatives along the way you feel need visiting?

All my family is in America so that an option out the window. I've always wondered if it was possible to ship adult chickens? I'd think not, but possibly with how close we are to each other?

It looks quite similar to my inexperienced eye, my cockerel has less "straw" on his body but it keeps getting more pronounced as he grows older (he hatched on the 20 May) so maybe he will get some on the back also.

I unfortunately have to re-home him, I already have two roosters. I will be sorry because we have grown very attached to him.
I’m not sure where he got this gene from. I got hatching eggs from a neighbour because I thought his roo was beautiful and well mannered : he was silver and much smaller. His hens are just layers, no special breed ; he said his rooster was a pure breed but couldn't remember which. And he also said his sister's much bigger rooster across the road sometimes eloped with his hens as well . It looks like Pied Beau, my cockerel, will grow quite big, maybe not as much as Darcy though.

Good luck with your project. How do you plan breeding for cold resistance? I don't know if it wouldn't make more sense to breed for resistance to heat, seen how things are going .

By laying hens do you mean like these?

I went and cut my grandfather's cat's claws yesterday afternoon. While there he gave me my birthday present. He had forgotten it on the table the few times he had been up since my birthday. I kept telling him he did not need to worry about it, I am a adult, I do not need anything.

Ok adult of not I felt like a kid getting this. My family has finally figured out that to make me happy, throw a chicken on it.

I’ve already found people who want him . I mistakenly thought you were in Piedmonte, that would have been feasible. We’re two hours away from the colle della Maddalena and three from Saluzzo.

The hens are not red hybrids, that would have been very strange ! It's difficult to get accurate information from my 85 years old neighbour. He drives a long way to get them from a breeder in Gap and says they are sold as layers. They are just medium sized, sleek plain black and brown hens. Lulu is the pullet from the hatch who looks the most like them, but I think they don't have any white feathers.
