Tina passed? I’m so sorry. :hugs She had a wonderful life with you and Princess. :hugs :hugs You gave her freedom and space to roam and love ❤️
No she's hanging in there for now. I'm trying my best to extend her life as long as possible.
She's resting indoors at the moment with my sounds box, she's relaxing to grasshoppers sounds

Well don’t know about ‘like’ but they pick at it.

There isn’t any real stats on how much they should ingest; my original chooks eggs seem fine, but my niece’s BR, Larry, was laying soft shelled eggs. And I think Sharpie has been laying brittle shelled eggs, at least I think it’s Sharpie, Larry is molting and I don’t think she is now laying.

The only one of my niece that is laying is Raven and she is laying eggs with good shells. I find this laying business to be stressful, I am constantly worrying about these hens, and now Mr P with this calcium stuff. It makes me wonder how chickens ever survived even 25 yrs ago….!
By eating grass which is high in calcium.

I thought I added another post which I cannot see now.

I gave Tina some amoxicillin. I hope it helps her a little

I would like to find a way to clear her kidneys . Any ideas anyone?
I thought your second picture of flowers in a little dug area was a grave. Tina is still with us then? If she has an infection then the amoxicillin might help, but if her belly swelling is hurting her heart (straining the heart and other organs because too much pressure) it may not be enough. Her swelling may not be due to an infection in the first place.

No Pelargonium geranium. I've looked it up and it's a detox for chickens in small amounts.

I need to explain...

There's been a huge disruption in my home since last Thursday. This rental company promised to change my boiler for years and finally after the 5th time I got a call today saying it will be replaced tomorrow morning. It must have cost them the price of five boilers fixing the stupid thing.

Butters has passed. She was still breathing when I checked her on camera at 5:40 this morning. Her body is stiff but still warm. No big spasm, her head and feet look like she was sleeping though she had moved forward from before. Rest In Peace dear Butters :hit :love❤️❤️ 😢

It is a mystery what ailed her, her molt had been progressing with the tube feeding and then her own eating, but seemed to slow, and on Monday her weight was down again.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. You did wonderful trying to help her through whatever it was. Sometimes we just never know.

She had a splendid life with you. No one could have provided a better one. I'm glad you got to hold her and have those final moments together.

:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
