I went and retrieved the young Roo he actually was up and walking around. Tail was still down but not as much as was. Decided to still bring him in.

I looked him all, over broke out the flashlight 🔦 and nothing. I can not see or feel anything wrong with him. He did not at all appreciate me looking at his belly though and for the first time took a peck at me, frankly, I am shocked it took him this long to get irritated with me fussing over him 😂.

I set him down and he walked over to hide under the coffee table, which was excellent because I could watch him walk on a completely level surface. No limp, he is simply slow and uncomfortable.

Ill stick with the plan of keeping him inside overnight till his tail is back up to normal. Apparently, time does seem to be healing whatever it is that is ailing him. I am at loss for what else to do 🤷‍♀️.

His head peaking up to see whats going on.

That’s great! A tent you both can sleep in tonight. He’s going to need company! :hugs

It would help to see some shots of a bigger area - knowing whether the grade in the yard is directing the water in to the chicken run - is it situated in the bottom of a 'bowl' and all the surface water is going there? Or is it all coming from that corner? Or is it coming up from the water table?
I’ll get pictures tomorrow.
Now I am not entirely sure what I’m looking at so I will study this more. The run is on part of a shale parking area / driveway, so yes it’s on very compacted rocks.

Outside the run, water tends to just sit there and not go anywhere. It looks really flat with depressions here and there. I have thought it might be trying to go toward the swale drain, it has to go under the run to get there. Maybe a pickaxed trench around the run to the drain would help. Gotta study it more.

The water I saw in the run corner earlier today while it was raining - some or all was actually coming from the tarps above the wire but under the leaking roof (the other disaster hah), rolling down off and dripping not out but coming back just inside the wire, down into the wet corner. Today I covered the sides with the winter tarps, made sure they were tucked under the roof tarps for now, and sat in there and watched while it steadily showered outside. Nothing dripped in. The water from earlier had subsided a lot, not to nothing, but, it wasn’t increasing. Maybe the flood before was from this?

The 3/4 crusher run, you mean pile it up the side of the run some, then shape it and pack it down sloping away from the run?
No, put it inside the run, slope it so that one end is a few inches higher and put the lower side to drain into a drainage ditch, and run the ditch away from the run.

Also I would make sure to close off the side where the prevailing wind blows from. Here that is the north-west, so if it were me I would put up clear tarps on the north and west sides to prevent rain from driving in.

You can also backfill up against the run sides if you wish, I don’t know what your run has for footings and base boards along perimeter of the run along the ground.

Did you give him some pain meds?

Poor pookie, well I sure hope he his has an injury which will heal soon. It’s hard when they are injured and can’t talk 😟
