Do the boys get along? Or are the both old enough to not care? I'm glad things have been settled for Gribouille and for See You (he's beautiful, too). Sorry there was so much drama about it.
It's not done yet. I think it will probably work out fine because See you, even though he’s only six and whole, is a very placid horse, respectful of boundaries, and there are no mares around. Gribouille was used to be dominant with the mare, but he’s a 30 years old gelded male that has been terribly lonely for months so I don't think he will look for trouble (and yep, with the drama his ID papers came out and we know his exact age now).
At worse, they can board them separated by electric fence during the day and separately at night.
I like seeing what others call things. Thank you.
Didn't you mention doing linguistic studies 😊?

We have a media, Courrier international, that is a digest of articles from newspaper all over the world. They have a really cool and fun 3 mn podcast during the holidays called the words of others, where they explain how a word or expression translates in very different languages. @Sally PB 's post really made me think of it 😊.
How beautiful she is! And she looks great for her age. You would never guess on these pictures she has given you such issues with her sleep. How is she doing now ?
So glad the old boy will be looked after, hopefully that stallion will not pester him too much 💕

Here is the English version of the CIPARS bulletin

Thank you. My search engine seems to have registered i’m french because I always get french results first even using english keywords.

Language tax. This is the new trio. So much trouble would have been avoided if they had taken up together months ago ! Théo, Merle and Piou-piou, perfectly suited size wise. But of course Théo had to chase my ex-batt's for a year and a half and giant Gaston was in love with Piou-piou the runt.

I shall let him know; surprisingly he has done jury duty a couple times and enjoyed it. Pretty sure I would fall asleep in my chair!

Dutiful Tax

Muffy - wonder what sort of egg colour she will lay?

I did jury duty once. It was fascinating!

Invented by Henry French Flagg, Massachusetts. We simply call it a drain.

We call them Belgian fries.

The slang expression to design that type of kiss in French is the most ugly/funny thing.
Roll a shovel

Called english seam here 😊

Nope. Our mustard stings.

😊😊😊

I looked up the Campylobacter issue. Maybe others did too ?
The most interesting docs I found were in french. My understanding with my limited scientific background is that there is a strong concern for resistance development in Campylobacter Jujuni, the type that affect chickens, due to broiler ingesting antibiotics. It is a human health problem because eating sick chickens lead to enteritis and the resistant bacteria causes more serious symptoms, some long lasting like Guillain Barré syndrom. This does not concern enrofloxacin or fluoroquinolones specifically. I found a study that compared in European countries the percentage of resistant Campylobacter Jujuni to various type of antibiotics ; they vary greatly depending on the country and it's more intensive use of one type of antibiotics. In most of European countries enrofloxacin has actually a rather low issue regarding to Campylobacter resistance.
But I also came upon this Canadian document in french (it's probably in english somewhere as it's governmental) which mentions that resistance to fluoroquinolones in Saskatchewan and British Columbia has increased worryingly ; it is more about ciprofloxacin, but also mentions enrofloxacin stating explicitly that derogative use of Baytril for poultry is one of the cause. In a similar documents I saw vets were given instructions not to use it derogatively anymore.
I realize BC isn't that close to New York... but maybe similar causes led to similar effects.
So this could maybe explain the vet's excessive reaction, though it doesn't excuse it.

Sunday tax : See You, the stallion. After much human drama, it turns out old Gribouille will go live his last days with him ! Not a bad solution to a big conflict as See You’s owner already needs to do all the necessary care and check ups for her horse.

You know that is an awesome picture that sky is so blue! And See looks great !

It sounds like you are referring to the initial mailing, which is asking you to verify you still live at that address and other information to be part of the possible jury pool. In New York you are found through motor vehicle records, personal tax return addresses, property tax rolls and other records. If you don’t respond at all repeatedly you get fined in New York State $250. You could get a “non-compliance proceeding” and face criminal prosecution for contempt. What happens then is probably like what @featherhead007 says, you lose your birthday lol.

Anyway after a verification notice then you can count on a Jury Summons arriving, which you must comply with or respond to. It could be a jury trial summons for one trial, or a Grand Jury duty Summons for evaluation of the county District Attorney’s investigation evidence of various suspected crimes which means you serve for the length of the Grand Jury impaneling, usually four to six weeks. If you really can’t go you have to explain why, and the rules allowing excuse have changed, they’re more strict, because in the old days it was so easy to get out of, the jury pool was limited to those who were willing and into it, which really skewed the pool and put the burden on those few.

But you can readily get a change in service date, you are allowed three requests for another date in the future (? this could be old), or at least one, but you have no say in what date they choose. I think your name gets thrown into the next round of jury requests and for whenever that trial date is. After you’ve exhausted that you have to show up.

Those three look like they are doing ok, and they have the high ground I see 😊

Yeah, my chickens have a bad habit of jumping too, or chicken I should say because it's only the roo. He jumps on the roof and just crows. He's silly.
Mr P my Roo likes to sit on the cedar rail in the run, get all puffed up and crow - he’s such a turkey hahahah

Hmmm, I can't really see her ears. But I'm just going to guess a cream color as that is the case with a lot of chickens. She doesn't look like an easter egger.
If her mum is Buttercup who is also a Splash and lays blue eggs, then she will most likely lay blue eggs, but since Muffy has a beard and muffs I would say her mum is more likely Whisker’s who lays a blue-green egg. Dada is a Polish and they lay white eggs, so likely she will lay a pale blue-green egg 😊

Eggciting to wait and see !

I thought this was Butterscotch....
Ya I had to double check, but it’s Muffy who has awesome eyebrows to go with her beard and muffs 😊

Butterscotch - she has wattles!!! I bet she is a Sophia kid, that would make her a full sister to Tippy

Muffy - aweaome eyebrows 😊

Yes they all have them, and some have beards, so I can guess who the mums are - but won’t know for sure till they start laying eggs.

I think Eli-too is a full sister to Tippy. They look identical, and I know that Tippy’s mum is Sophia.

Tippy

So glad they figured it all out, so much chicken drama at times.

I sure those two horses will be fine together, I have run geldings and stud horses together before and usually have no issues. Less drama than with mares 😆

Truly seems good, I am taking it one day at a time with her. I have her bedded on straw now and I have seen her down sleeping, and has been able to get up afterwards. Though it’s a bit of a struggle for her.
