Two-fer Tuesday
Two Wyandottes. The Ice Wyandotte and the Fire Wyandotte.

This is the Ice Wyandotte, Perpetua. She will freeze you with a look until you feed her. Even then, she prefers to sit on your lap with a look of frozen indifference instead of eating.

This is the Fire Wyandotte, Petra. She won't hold still for a picture. She will melt your heart with one look, causing you to give her lettuce, which she devours like a fire devouring pine needles. She is full of fire, and loves to move around, unlike the Ice Wyandotte.

Here are the Fire and Ice Wyandottes together, butt to butt, waiting to devour your food. Note how the Fire Wyandotte (on the right) is standing and moving around a lot, while the Ice Wyandotte is sitting with a frozen look on her face.

As the squire of the honorable sir Jaffar, his lordship has requested me to ask the Beloved Queen Aurora, if he could possibly see a picture of her during her reign in session wearing her crown?
I was requested to do my utmost to procure such a picture on my iPhone.
So please ask her if she would pose for just one image. :bow:fl

Tried to improve the run trench before filling with stones. Then tested again. I think the French drain is actually working, at least for now!

Here's the South end of the French drain next to the driveway, there's an old blueberry near it.

Maybe the biggest dirt buildup in the pipe is near the end of it. Anyway, saw actual flow!

The gangs are getting along relatively well. When the Buckeyes leave the dry pile of litter and go forage, the Spuds move in for a quick dustbath or scratch, and leave as soon as they are discovered. Popcorn is in heavy molt, Hazel less so but is molting too. Needless to say the Spuds are changing out feathers all the time.

That is great news!
Given that the guy didn’t use cloth/sleeve the place that will get blocked will be the stones, so the occasional blast with a hose and stirring up the stones may help keep it clear.
You could put a pipe in your run trench. Wrap it in cloth, add some rock, another layer of cloth and then finish with stone and that will work for years without any help. You have a good pitch on that.
So now to see if it solved the problem.

My twofer this week are Babs and Piglet: the only two that lay eggs.
Babs needs a break but continues to lay daily. So does Piglet.
Bernie has stopped laying but is showing no signs of molting. I think it is the next step in her transition to rooster!
Sylvie seems to think there are better things to do with her time and nobody else has started laying!

Edited to correct who stopped laying.

You mean Bernie has stopped laying?

So the chair these guys are on the back of has turned into a poop board of course. Must change the perch attachment so it can be a useable chair! Meanwhile here's a two-fer I got while sitting on it after carefully cleaning it....
Ida on left, Anna on the right. I keep calling Ida Diane, so that may be her name now, and use either one: "Ida Diane."

It's not deep enough for a 4-5 inch pipe, is it? It's only about six inches deep or a little more, and then only the last eight feet or so.

Yes I'm tempted to leave it open for now, go to other necessary run things, wait for the next rainy weather and see what happens.
