Last night's offering of mealyworms. Ash and Liara crowding the bowl, as usual. Liara actually escaped Monday, it was such a pain trying to get her back in the pen!

Ash and Liara have started doing the hen chuckle sound, and buk bukking instead of only peeping. Our little maybe cockerel is starting to act protective of the girls now too. I guess we're all hitting chicken puberty. It's funny when the rooster down the road crows, little Thane runs out and looks all over. I think trying to determine if that rooster is in charge of our flock or just a neighbor.

Hubby got the hardware cloth wrapped on the run extension too! We'll be figuring out how to attach it to the coop and making the security apron soon. I just love the doorknob on it.

Then we just need to get the big food and water holders, figure out how we want to hook up the water tank deicer, and wrap the main run up in plastic to prevent snow from building up. I was going to ask dad if he had any ideas to keep snow out of the extension, since hubby wants the food and water hanging up out there.

Happy Thursday (catch up day for me)
After a very stressful few weeks some big things are better and I am working on dealing with some long over due household issues like appliance repair. Had a week if wet weather followed by an 80° weekend a than another cool (high 50s low 60s) wet week. Today is our one nice day, hoping to fix the coop gutters. Lots of laundry to do, a couple of the kittens have been peeing on the couch :he luckily I keep a waterproof mattress cover on it.
Finally took a few photos

Poor Brenna, I thought everyone was finishing up, now she has no tail and so many neck pins.

Thane don’t worry, you’ll be like this someday: IMG_3640.png

Have your girls been on any 'walk-abouts' lately? Strolling around the neighborhood, seeing who has good bugs and such?

(It was your girls that went over to the neighbors, correct?)
