It's 3c here right now. I don't think the girls will want to be out so much today. The drop in the temperatures so quickly is amazing

Maybe an older quiet Roo like Mr P who is past the dumb a$$ stage - maybe a nice silkie Roo or a pretty Polish - or a lovely Cochin, oh right sorry forgot no feathered legs. How about a banty Sebright?
You have a 2nd coop now. You could even go for a specific breed......maybe make an extra panel that fits across the long hall in the barn to separate 2 groups. (Put it on a hinge like a large door)

For pony Sunday I would like to introduce you to the winner of one of my favorite competitions.
A lady after my own heart who this year, to quote the narrator, was able to focus on caring for herself and her number one job of getting fat.

That was great! Thanks for sharing 😊 I wouldn’t cross her path at any time.

My kiddos are good as long as no wind, and if it’s sunny they just lay around sunbathing. But yes winter on the way.

Tempting but no more egg hatching for me; too hard to get rid of the Roos.

But, I am open to getting a couple of dark Brahma and cuckoo Marans next spring/summer if I have a broody to throw them under.

If I had an easy way to process cockerels I would be fine with raising a dual purpose like Marans .

Pony Sunday

The mares were enjoying a nice day with no bugs and no rain.

Reenie had a tick on her which a quick spray of the horse fly spray killed making the tick easy to remove. Actually today I need to give everyone their last spray of the horse fly spray for the lice, I haven’t seen any moving around on anyone, but I do see some nit clusters which I pluck off when I find if I can.

Ok everyone have a splendid day!
