I cleaned out the wounds as they were actively bleeding and I was able to get alcohol and hydrogen peroxide to clean them out. I’m not too worried about it but I will call the doctor tomorrow.

She really is beautiful!!!Happy Monday.
Here is Bernie’s mug looking at me in a disapproving manner. She did not explain my transgression. Nor would she face me head on so I fear I have disappointed her big time!

Two more beauties! My twofer this week are Babs and Piglet: the only two that lay eggs.
Babs needs a break but continues to lay daily. So does Piglet.
Bernie has stopped laying but is showing no signs of molting. I think it is the next step in her transition to rooster!
Sylvie seems to think there are better things to do with her time and nobody else has started laying! View attachment 3656483
Edited to correct who stopped laying.
Fabulous photos! You should enter them in aome sort of contest. So the chair these guys are on the back of has turned into a poop board of course. Must change the perch attachment so it can be a useable chair! Meanwhile here's a two-fer I got while sitting on it after carefully cleaning it....
Ida on left, Anna on the right. I keep calling Ida Diane, so that may be her name now, and use either one: "Ida Diane."

Yes, it does. Poor babies.Kinda makes us cry doesn’t it? Seeing our friends suffer like this
The more stories I hear of Marty, the more I am convinced I could get along with that hen and treasure her. I have spent the weekend going out and spending time with Poppet. She is no longer afraid of me and we have had a break through. No treats needed, all I have to do now is go out and just squat down in the coop. I have her willingly hopping up onto my leg to snuggle up in under 2 minutes. Even though she is a love bug I see sass in her. That sass is not directed towards me, but I think it could be if she were broody. I am not afraid, bring on the sass, I welcome it. I am also very seriously considering not letting her have unlimited free range access but instead building a run extension onto the coop. I will find her a friend if I do that, I can see Flurry the cochin not minding being kept in a run. She is not huge on free-ranging anyway, she sticks very close to the coop and in the barn isle. She only comes to the back steps when food is involved. I also think if his cochin lady is involved, Branch would also not mind being contained for longer periods either. I don't know, it is just something I have been pondering on.
Ok so other than when I am messing with her man, Marty is a gem, and Fluffy, Curly and Henny Penny are darlings.
Fluffy and Curly co-brooding chicks this past summer
