Ohhhh, this is a wonderful Calendar pic. Would be great for, say, May! You should tag this one for submission for next year's calendar contest. Momma and her chicks are so darn cute :)
I already had submitted for this years calendar. It was a lovely photo though - for once they were still for 1 minute!

No. He's someplace where they can live outside.

Pony Sunday

Quite chilly and windy today, north wind brrrr, the chooks took one look outside and ran back inside hahaha wimps!

I walked out to check on the horses, really need to get those weeds cut down - sent a text to my niece asking if she could drop by with the JD tractor and bush-hog someday.

My Willow trees are just starting to turn colour.

I didn't know whether to laugh or send hugs. I think I resemble that teenager. Only, I didn't have a friend to ride double with. I long thought I was going to be a stunt rider....and would ride my horse bareback - standing up - through the woods on our property (I also used to ride him backwards bareback - with the reins one on either side of me to 'steer', I rode western). My dad hid behind a tree and was going to scare me - until he saw how I was riding. Never knew he was there until I asked for privileges for something else at a later date He brought up me 'daredevil riding through the woods with low hanging branches!" Needles to say, I didn't get to go to the dance. Well, I was on our property! (The rule was could not leave our land bareback - had to have a saddle.

:idunnoI was on our land, so wasn't that fair game???:idunno
I'm not really mad to be honest. I'm not stupid, I know once she is out of sight on Russ she is doing "stupid things" per say. It comes with the territory of both being a teenager and having the confidence that you are invincible. I will not tell her, but I am over joyed that she is back to this level of stupidity. The fall where she broke her collar bone shook her, bad. It took some time to get the feeling of invincibility back, and frankly for a while I was afraid she would not overcome it. All that being said, if you are going to do stupid things there are consequences. I am sorry you fell, but I have told you a 1000 times when doubling go no faster then a walk. You did NOT listen. Truth came out that indeed they were galloping with her friends when they came off. I knew that, Russ bolted my foot. They both got back on him yesterday and calmly walked him down at the bottom for another hour to cool him down and regroup. They also had to clean his stall after they were done riding, sorry you are sore. The knuckleheads would not have had to do it if they had listened and cleaned it BEFORE they got on him. In fact, they were told to do exactly that and their friends showed up and it was we will do it after. I actually did not yell at her last night. Getting that stall spotless when you are hurting did way more for her then yelling would have.

Love it ! Yes that will be a far better lesson for her and her friend. It is nice to see her off doing crazy things though. When she is my age then she can think about not doing crazy things 😊 meanwhile at her age it’s great to see 💕

Silly Lulu

Here let me fix your fly mask…

Well, if it wasn't selected - you could submit next year, too, No??
Yea I think we can resubmit if it has won elsewhere.

Hubby and kiddo just went to give the chicks a mash with egg, oatmeal, carrot peels, and little bits of celery. He was going to mix a scoop of chick feed in it too. Hopefully that helps them stay warm!
Not sure why you have ice in you water down there we haven’t had it that cold - yet! Tonight though it supposed to be below freezing. I’ll cover the horses water trough to help keep the water from freezing. It’s way to early to put the tank de-icer in there.

I live in the forest so it seems like it's always cooler out here! I checked the temps for the city I used to live in and no freezing there, so weird
