The sighing of the pines... beautiful sound. :)

I think my shower curtains are 6 mil. My prevailing wind is from the west, so that helps: It's blowing the shower curtains against the fence. I have the over laps so that the opening is to the south, as north is my next most prevailing wind. We do get wind from the south, but usually less strong and less often. Southwest is the most worrisome direction.

But at 15-35 degrees F, any wind feels chilly. When it's colder than that, they mostly stay in the coop.
My kiddos stayed in after I chased down the little farts again. It started raining so they were not interested I going out which was fine with me, I closed up the barn doors and worked at grouting the spaces in the brick pavers - darn chooks kept stepping in the concrete 😆

I should have left a couple of the foot prints I guess. But they then pooped on the wet concrete and I had to go chase them away from that. And when they started to eat the concrete I pitched a fit! 😳 sheesh…

Wonder if wet concrete is bad for chickens 😳

Does anyone have a hen, that just won’t shut up? My little Dakota never stops talking, complaining, about something.
She acts like a 2 year old child in Walmart! 😩 And won’t shut up 🤐 never ever stops.View attachment 3671560
Yes - Henny Penny 😁

She has her own song also - I’ll try to sing it tomorrow 😊💕

Looks so cold. It was 80°F here Saturday. Today it is raining and 55°F. The ladies are all huddled in Hattie House today. Trying to stay warm and dry.
Same here, it was 74F Friday and today was just miserable wet snow, rain, gropple 😢 I finally broke down and put the heater on in the office/feed room.

Oh those school chicks - a wish they wouldn’t roost on the door.

The other two are on the other door.

I heard that concrete will give you that heavy feeling in the pit of your stomach! :old (And it’s very hard to make a cake with it):D
I wouldn’t make a meal out of it every day.

In case anyone’s interested, the hens seem to mostly be healthy. Minnie Minnie is crazy crazy skinny from her molt and she did that last year, too. Bridge is having a neurological problem with her right foot which has me concerned. I’ll have to look up which vitamins I should be giving her.
Thanks for the pictures and check-in! Is Minnie your remaining Buckeye? Indont recall exactly. I hope she and Bridge both make it through. Does Bridge seem fine otherwise, like her weight, and belly? I wonder if something is pressing on a nerve causing her leg issue. In any case, it’s so great to see your tribe again!

Sir Jaffar has made his intentions clear to me. He would prefer to be inside the house tonight instead of in the coop. As soon as he saw to it, that all his ladies were in the coop/run area, he ran towards the house and was waiting at the porch steps. I locked up the coop and brought (Mr. Determined) inside.
Chooks are crazy peoples!
