I had to check out his vetericyn
https://vetericyn.com/our-technology/

There is also a hydrogel which adheres to wounds - I wonder if I can get these products here.
That looks like what I got. They showed me the spray gel. I considered it, but went with the one that said it was for chickens. I thought the spray would get thru the feathers better.

Agreed, try it and let us know how it works, trim back the feathers though.

Also try Uno with her, as long as they both aren’t stressed it should be good.

Have you given any thoughts to rehoming the boys?

Good luck with your championship class, remember it’s all about having fun.

As for Lenny I seem to remember you having the same worries about a ‘new horse’ when you went from the pony to Lenny, you will get more experience with a new horse. That is what life is all about - and how you grow.

As for Mdm Pearl ( may she rest in peace) set an alarm on your phone for a time to bury her. Make a plan and stick to it.

Ok, now once you get a chance post some photos of the chicks 💕
Thank you!

For me it’s just a little different. He’s owned by a 9 year old who screams whenever Lenny picks up the canter. Will the pony, I still see her and I can hug her, but with Lenny when he leaves, I won’t see him ever again.
I am hoping to ride a mustang who is training to be a lesson horse. My instructor thinks that we’d make a good team.

I was holding my EE buddy Crystal two weeks ago. She’s grown even more. She and the BR Ruby are my buddies. Gumbo, the BR roo is on my,”I hate you, why did you have to me a rooster?” And the EE pullet Opal doesn’t really like me. Gumbo is sweet so far, so I might try to rehome him rather than freezer camp, but at the same time, I need the experience of processing my own chickens.
Well, I have to get ready for my show. It’s 4:03! I’m gonna try to convince Lenny to be good for our possible last show… one of his problems is that he doesn’t stop…

I will know much more tomorrow. I think she literally has no skin on her neck, but I couldn't get the best of looks.

Well I only have 3 hens. Eenie, Meanie, and Sheba. Meanie is clearly top hen. Sheba and Eenie are kind of a toss up. I think she's lowest. I'll try to get a better look at Sheba's back tomorrow.

I'll absolutely do that and post much better pictures tomorrow.

I'd love to put her and Sheba together, bur that means Manny will just have Meanie and the pullet Uno and of course Tres, the cockrell.

The vetericyn I bought has no color! Did I get the right stuff? View attachment 3675978
I also got this to wash the wound with. Good? Bad?

Both those would be fine for cleaning the wound but as others have said try to get a look at it first - if it is scabbed over and no infected you might be better leaving it alone.
I think the blue stuff to prevent the others pecking is called Blu-Kote.

Here's a thought...do you have a Larry egg? Any chicks from her will be sex linked: pullets will NOT have a lspot on the head (indicates will be barred. Cockerels WILL have the spot and be barred (unless they really throw some odd genes into the mix).
Larry hasn’t laid a normal egg in over a year. She has been laying brittle or soft eggs. She would lay an egg and it would break and make a mess all over the egg in a nest. I am hoping she will pick her own nest box when she starts again just like m case she starts with soft eggs again; but you know chickens - one day they will lay an egg in one box, the next day who knows ha!

Since she moulted she hasn’t laid an egg. I am hoping that not laying for a while will build up her calcium reserves. Also I have not seen Mr P breeding her, or Raven. I know Raven lays normal eggs, and even Sharpie was laying good eggs. But none of them have been laying now.

But can you imagine a cute BR with a sassy topknot like Butterscotch has? 😊💕

Awww such a sweetie pie! They sure are cute at that age.

In the tradition of the Princesses at the Chicken Palace to lay their first egg when I am traveling, Tassels laid her first egg.
She miscalculated just a bit because late last night as I am rushing around getting ready to go I decide to check again for eggs.
So I got the egg, but no chance of a picture of the two of them together.
It is small, and khaki colored.
Here are eggs from all my layers. The one from Sylvie is from before she went broody. The others were all from yesterday.

Wow that’s a lovely coloured egg from Tassels, like a mocha colour 😊💕
