I would just trim the feathers where her poops collect rather then introduce any further stuff in her vent. Otherwise it’s just more messiness.

If it’s not way below freezing I would keep her with princess they are a flock so best to keep them together. And being outside is always great for them - gosh I sure hope she is just a bit slow today. You know I have given Red a half low dose aspirin with good results - it’s an anti-inflammatory and pain med. it might help your lovely girl.

Ok I will check in later to see how you’re getting on with her.
No aspirin. Will try my neighbours

A few more pictures I took yesterday. The young ones are growing up and looking like laidies now. I am glad I caved and got grandma 2 barred rocks. They are not as friendly as my childhood Dominiques but they are friendly enough. It is also comforting to see stripes in my flock, they bring back many happy memories.

The speckled girls get prettier every time I look at them, those spots are to die for.

Then we have Owly, my sweet loveable Owly. She is turning into such a pretty bird.

One more from my favorite pair. Me and Branch are both smitten by this little fluffy princess.

Is Poppet going to get as big as Branch, or even close?

Nothing I see says use an antibiotic. I would save whatever I have for a more serious situation. That actually looks pretty good. It should heal on its own.

Do you know how this happened?

I don't. I know no one else is injured. I've not seen any blood on anything or any excessive feathers her color. She's always in the coop or the run, though she stays in the coop mostly and away from Manny as much as she can. I've seen her squeeze under the little tables we put in for the chicks to keep him away. That's why I assumed it was him.

:wee:wee:weePear appeared on the patio this morning, Nimbus appeared in the olive trees. Both have no signs of trauma from yesterday! Twirp is still with us. Whiskey is eating and trying to convince her to. Haven't seen her eat yet. Felt her crop, feels squishy. I think she's had more water and not much else. Biscuit crumbles were happily inhaled by Whiskey. Twirp turned her beak up at them. Taking Sherlock for a walk, then getting pumpkin started.

As long as the wound is dry and not running I wouldn’t give antibiotics. If it starts to drain I would just keep it clean. It looks pretty dry and I don’t see any swelling, it might look nasty but it’s scabbed over so I would leave it. Just be prepared for it to take a long time to heal and slough off.

If she looks uncomfortable you can try a half low dose aspirin twice a day. But she looks pretty good.
Not aspirin. Tylenol. Aspirin is an anticoagulant. It could start fresh bleeding.
