Took the pumpkin skins and the guts out to the chickens, along with a leftover pasta dish (with meat). Twirp and Whiskey were both in the thick of it for the best bits. Looks like they're happy with everyone else. Recovery will be in the coop. Cardhu, Cumulo and Nimbus are staying fairly close to Storm, but even there, are willing to spread out while staying within the perimeter of the adults.

Beautiful Bird! What type is it?

That’s nice and mild. It’s been fairly mild and dry here also.

Today Mr P pecked Muffy on the back, it’s the second time he did that to her. Not sure why, she is squatting like crazy so I would think that he would be more than happy for some whoopi! Of course he is cranky since he has been moulting. But I have seen him breeding his main harem. Not sure what to make of it really.
Take that as a sign. Even if he is not actively breeding her in your presence, that first egg is roughly a week away give or take a day or two. You can not trust a teenage hormonal boy, but a older experienced boy, he knows. He will not pay the young pullets any attention at all until the time is right.

Onyx is at full molt, tail feathers gone and everything.

I guess she has been trying to horn in on his group, could be why he is pecking her.

She has blue ears so I am expecting blue eggs from her.

Oh dear, poor wee thing, tell her in about 6 weeks she will be glorious again ❤️💕
I think she is really waiting for that. I remember when she just layed her first egg as a young hen. She held her multitude of tail feathers high and walked with a showy stride alongside her brothers.

It’s a Northern Flicker - I already asked 💕

So you owe a SHRA tax (Should Have Read Ahead), this helps keep down on unnecessary replies/questions ❤️

I like BR, wattles or combos there of… for tax… ❤️ Right Alex?

Sounds like she's close to laying and he's testing his reception rather than pulling a grab and mount.
