Hello all, I’m a longtime lurker of Fluffybutt acres, and a big fan of what Bob’s work has become! You all are such a cute, chatty community :) I haven’t read the whole thread obv, but have jumped around here and there (currently reading around the September mark) and love your stories.

I have a flock of six in Washington state (it took a LOT of math to get to this number); four mature girls currently cycling through molts, and two pullets I’m hoping will start to lay any day now. :fl

My mugs Monday is Dottie, hoping her pitiful coif gets her first dibs on dandelions.

Here is a summertime throwback photo of my four ladies in their run, and a gaggle of adolescents up on the perch in the background (of which only two were kept).

Welcome!!! And what a lovely crew you have. ❤️ ❤️

Based on your introductory post here, I suspect you have stories of your own to share!

Oh this is sad news, I'm so sorry!

No idea who the beagles belonged to, though now I know who to ask. Beagles will go for miles, and back then they didn't have the tracking collars.

Chicken tax - I got more ambitious, after the last rain. Want to raise the whole floor, not just the west side.
About two thirds done here in the second 6x12 run, trying to make them set well enough and reasonably straight and level. Standards are not too high though, and there were some limitations to work around.

Chicken inspectors in this before pic below - I had laid it out first to see if the ideas would work and things would fit, made some changes and now I'm setting & leveling them, more or less. And cleaning off poop and trying to kneel in between poo spots!

Yes, those darn pesky inspectors _ they think they are above using the port-a-johns on work sites. 🤣 🤣 Makes it miserable at times for the grunt workers!!!:hugs

Probably nice to have their company, though - except for when you accidentally kneel in the poo!

Stayed late at work. Walked out the door to this:

Yes just like the guys on my job sites, pee behind their trucks - sheesh! Meanwhile a portapottie is only about 100’ away 🤨
