Sir Jaffar, he Cocorico! He’s sounding good this morning. A nice healthy crow, and consistent in his own timing. I’m keeping my chooks locked up this morning, because I’m attending the town’s annual Veterans Day parade on Main Street. Bringing my neighbor with me, who has trouble getting around by herself. 👨🏼‍🦽.
I hope you had a good day 💓

See what others say but I would think draining them would be enough.
The oil isn’t bad for them. Just has calories. And washing often doesn’t remove oil.
I think I would put them in a sieve over a bowl and leave them to drip off over night.
I just drained them a few times in cold water then they were in the fridge overnight. She's had a mix of things.

I read garlic helped older and even younger chick's with the digestive system, helping them towards eating more. She has had garlic before infact they all liked it. So I fermented mash with a tiny amount if corn and chia seeds them added a little garlic with more mash for the past two day's with either cat food sardines and this morning turkey. She's eating again. I make sure she has a few beakfulls before leaving it for her to go back to. She's not into dry food at all.

It rained all day yesterday and she had a couple of tantrums. I put on the white noise on my phone from my back door and was surprised how that settled her down.

She's been mud bathing again. But had to go into the run again because it's raining

Open mouth, insert foot 🦶!
I was going to take my neighbor lady to the parade, but she decided she couldn’t go because of her knee and couldn’t get around easily. So I’m cleaning up her kitchen and going home to my chooks. She doing good for a 85 year old!
Alex you are so kind. I bet that lady adores you :hugs

For Bob’s viewing pleasure! Let’s see if this works. My sweet dog is trying to mind her own business while being hounded by a persistent cream pullet called Whiskey, and a gray pullet called Albert (who was much sneakier about pecking on the dog’s bum).

Please let me know if it works.
They are all adorable 😍 ❤️

She is looking good!

My chooks can only free range in the yard supervised because we have a disproportionate amount of predator activity, for a small city yard :barnie, so I get them out like twice a week.View attachment 3682197
Fez, despite being happy that today was one of those days, still prefers meal worms to earth worms.View attachment 3682199They ended up dodging a couple of Cooper’s hawk dive-bombs. Alas.

And I couldn’t figure out the best way to add a video? So here is a still photo of an interesting phenomena. My two pullets, bottom of the pecking order, kept harassing the dog! Trying to steal her “treat” (she was just chewing on a stick), chasing then posing tall near her, and pecking at her butt and legs. She’s getting hen pecked! And not following the proper pecking order rules of loser runs away- she just stands submissively taking it. Poor girl.

What beautiful animals.
I had a photo here somewhere of my chickens trying to mug my dog for his chew heart ❤️. Happy days

I made it back from my trip and managed to spend a lovely few hours yesterday with the Princesses.
Tassels wanted to show off her beard for mugshot Monday. She needs a beard comb to keep it tidy!

Then Pooh stopped by to inform me that she will start laying eggs when she is good and ready and not a minute sooner and that it was really none of my business anyway.
I gave her some chopped walnuts so I was forgiven for being nosy.
