I managed to get some video of the fetus moving in the egg, it’s Curly’s, I tried Fluffies but her egg is just a bit too dark. But it also is growing lots. Sure is a lively wee little girl

I had just given the girls carrots greens and she was waiting for… more? Better?

I’ll be honest, she’s a perfectly fine chicken-
; still laying for me, perfectly good communicator, keeps me on top of
my treat game, extra appreciative of their warm morning mash. But since she scalped and nearly killed a pullet this summer, she fell from favor. And one of these eggs is hers, meaning her “dark” eggs aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.

My kiddos where very reluctant to even go outside today, it turned sunny but the wind was so bad they just were not happy and all came back inside - I am hiding out in the feed room hahaha with Red.

Gumbo is closest to me, he’s getting some curly feathers. He’s not crowed yet, but I’m guessing that’s because of Pastel.

Behold, darkling beetles!

I got some live meal worms from my Buy Nothing group and have been keeping them in a meal bin. These pupated out into the adult form already, but I think that makes them even more fun for the chickens! Now that they’re mobile and can *run away*, they got scattered into a pile of Fall leaves

Notice Whiskey at the fence, making sure the lovely, mild mannered dratted dog doesn’t come too near.
