Molting is pretty much done and some of the girls are back online. I am really happy to see the return of Holly's dark egg and Corona's speckled egg. Not a bad haul today girls.

Monday mugs :

Laure has began laying after having a huge red comb for months, and though she is the biggest of the hatch, she lays the tiniest eggs- smaller than Piou-piou who is half her size ! Should I be concerned or does it just depends on the hen ?

She has mobility issues . She walks crouching on her knees and goes in circles instead of heading the shortest way. It's not a problem with her legs, as she can stand upright on both legs, or one leg only on each side, more like an issue controlling movement. I’ve been thinking nutritional deficiency, even though she still eats all the usual food but in smaller quantities , so I add daily scrambled egg, mackerel every other day, walnuts and almonds for vitamin B and I just started giving her human vitamins B complex.

Any thoughts on what else I could do ? Am I missing something? Hopefully at the speed it's going, the worse should be over in a few days.

Dorothy did that last year and it totally freaked me out.

I finally figured out it was her pin feathers on her legs and belly, they were painful when she walked. She could run and flap/hop up on stuff when someone was chasing her.

Sophia is the same right now, she is just full of pin feathers.

I would put it down to her moulting and being tender.

Jealous of all the eggs. I got 1 out of 7 laying. All others are doing a slowwww molt. Heading into winter New england style. Last year it was the same, started laying again in January, we shall see. #7hens3eggsaweek

Okay, @Ponypoor , please read the post above. The people of FBA are starting to revolt against the taxes!

I hope I owe some SHRA tax and someone e else also chimes in

Her hatchmates Bandit and Crook looked just like this Rooster here in the front. (Sorry I can't find any pics of them when they grew up)
