Poor baby! What about those nipple waterers?
I did add a nipple waterer this year, but the older chickens shun it.

BFTP Quincy:tongue I’ve seen her just standing there, letting Dottie dotingly clean her up.

It's Monday so it is time for some mugs.

First a leghorn for @BY Bob

Poppet looks like she stuck her beak in a light socket. Going by this picture though, I think she is no where being close to laying.

Spooky informed me this is the best she could or would do and to get over it.

A day late for Pony Sunday but Dirt is not happy. He is so over his vacation and is ready for deer season to go out.

It is also not Caturday, but Keeper is gloating he has moved up in life. Rosie rearranged her bedroom and put in a litter box. He has traded pouncing chickens for a life of pouncing toes and eyelids while you sleep. He keeps it up and he may think his new name is menace.

Keeper is just so darn cute!!!! He deserves to be in Rosie's room and have a human to pounce on!!

Haha I’d love if you could add pearls onto her. Quincy is quite glamorous ☺️ At least for now. She has the *mildest* cross beak, however it means her beak doesn’t close water-tight, so she wets her beard every time she drinks. By winter it’ll be matted and filth, and her sisters will “help” her out by grooming it… if it goes anything like last year, she’ll be plucked clean shaven by January 😩
Nipple waterer.

It kept her crest from freezing all winter

Oh so gorgeous!! Houdan?

My flock all knows how to use the nipple waterer, they just prefer the auto-fill cups, bowls, rain puddles, wild water collected in plastic bags… any other source really. To get Thing (and others) to use it, did you have to remove other water sources?

And that is post broody molt? Because she is too young to have her first seasonal molt.
I would say so, Henny did similar the very first time she hatched eggs a couple yrs ago. I noted as she has normal feathers not the poofy silkie one’s, those are hard to see partial moulting but you can sure feel those pin feathers in the fluffy feathers.
